Tartine has been named the best bakery in America, and has won numerous awards. And food critics have called its sourdough breads "the best bread in America". Pretty high praise! And, since I bake sourdough breads (including the Tartine-style breads from their excellent book) I had to make the pilgrimage to see what it's all about. I've now been to... 更多
Been going to Tartine for years and even when returning to San Francisco its one of my obligatory stops. There is usually a line and finding a table can sometimes be a problem, but the food makes up for it. Great croissants, lemon tarts, croque monsieur and other great treats.
We went on a Sunday afternoon and perhaps that was the reason for a long line to get into the very small space that is Tartine. It was a 30 minute wait from the time I got in line and ordered our selections. The pastry is very well presented, looks delicious and of a good variety. There are tables inside,... 更多
First I would like to say I made the walk from central San Francisco twice for this place, and second time I tried to eat so much I was almost ill. Everything is awesome! I had the morning roll which had cheese and ham in, delicious. Then for seconds I tried tried their banoffee like banana cake which had lots... 更多
Visited here on a Saturday noon time. The line was long. We waited about half hour to get in. We were not disappointed. Everything we ordered were great: Breakfast roll, Chocolate croissant , various pies and cakes. Its bit expensive but you get good qualities, and delicious
I had read about Tartine Bakery on TripAdvisors. In fact, I bought one of the Tartine cookbook to make certain we would want to visit this bakery. (That’s my story and I’m sticking to it!) As noted in reviews, you have to really want to make the trek to Tartine, located in the Mission district. We opted to see the... 更多
The hot pressed sandwich (available after 11.30am) with gruyere, horseradish and pastrami is so good it was worth waiting in line for what felt like 30 minutes. The side salad is simple but perfect (a little bitter, a little sweet, a little sour and salty). Get there after 4.30pm to bag fresh, hot bread.
Lines of people waiting for food around the Mission are not uncommon but few places live to the rave. Tartine is definite among the line-worthy places. Their cappuccinos, teas and pastries are simple and uncomplicated but so fresh and delicious. You'll get an authentic French breakfast where the flavor comes from fresh ingredients and great technique rather than complicated execution.... 更多
We tend to go for birthdays, one person usually wakes up early and reserves a spot and the rest of us join up as the morning progresses, Sure helps on a sunny day when outside seating is more tolerable. Quiche is top-notch and reasonable priced. Not exactly the best drip coffee I've ever had, go to Philz up 18th for... 更多
Do yourself a favour and go. I've read about Tartine and salivated over instagram pictures for eons now. I finally got to go in and everything I tried was divine. There is very limited seating so it is best to pic up treats to go, in my opinion. There is always a line, but fear not, it moves fast and... 更多
We were fortunate to come by at a time when the line wasn't that bad (for once!) We passed the time in line doing what everyone else was doing - trying to peek into the display cases, and checking out every pastry that passed by, carried by oh-so-happy customers. I was in the mood for chocolate, but didn't want to... 更多
This place often has long lines going outside and down the street. It's like something out of a Seinfeld episode. They haves tons of traditional bakery items like croissants, bread, and various delicious pastries, but they also have great deli items like Croques and coffee! Don't get your hopes up on finding a seat or table. It's very limited. TIP:... 更多
You'll read about Tartine in SF publications and guides, but take it from those who have visited Tartine...it is truly the best bakery in San Francisco. Because of its excellence, locals and tourists flock there, and there will be lines...even on a weekday mid-morning, but the wait will be worth it. The pastries, sandwiches (croque monsiuer, for example), buns, muffins... 更多
Lined up shortly after half eight, and got a seat by 9am. Do not attempt on a weekend. Morning buns are a must! My friend ordered their cakes for their wedding instead of a traditional cake, and they were a hit! Coffee is not the strongest, but the pastries are to die for!
You have to go here. We lived close by nd had amfriend that worked there. The cue starts to ringe in the mornng, but the food is delicious. Do nog go here if you are gluten intolerant or on a diet because everyting consists of butter att wheat. But so amazing breads and pastries. We had a cappucin and the... 更多
