This is a great local place. Service was good and the food was outstanding. We ate there for breakfast so we didn't try the pies even though they looked amazing. The homemade biscuts and gravy are a must for breakfast.
We came for breakfast on a Sunday morning. The line was out the door at about 11am. We waited about 20 mins before being seated. The service was fast and friendly. What can I say? Sky hi meringue on the coconut. My other fav coconut cream, but so is the banana cream. Or go for the ala-mode versions of cherry, pecan or apple. Oh baby! My waist line!
We enjoyed our chicken and dumplings. The gravy could taste more like chicken and less like flour but otherwise the food was decent. Loved the cream of chili soup and the fried okra. Homemade dinner rolls were good too. Good German chocolate and coconut cream pies! Very friendly service!
Famous restaurant verified by long lines (that move fairly quickly!). Good food but they don't take credit cards and the ATM is expensive. So bring cash and enjoy.
This restaurant is a mandatory stop for our family. Sometimes the wait can be quite long but so worth the wait. Simply good home cooking. Oh, and the mehrang pies are phenominal.
