The Kookaburra doesn't look much from the outside, but inside it is very nicely decked out and has lovely wood-burning fires. The menu is reasonably priced and is much more 'gourmet' than the average Aussie pub. The food was very good and the desserts were delicious. The staff were friendly and we had a very pleasant evening here.
The staff were cheerful and friendly, both of our meals were absolutely delicious, with lovely fresh cooked vegetables and a good sized serving. The dining area was cosy with the wood heater and nice atmosphere.
Food was good and filling we had a mix of Morrocan style, not too spicy, but still enjoyable, other food was tasty, in fact we there every night we stayed in Halls Gap as it was so convient to our Motel.
Halls Gap is a tiny little town in the Grampians and it is the home of some great places to eat. We went to the Kookaburra on a very busy Friday night during the Great Grape Escape. Booked 3 weeks in advance to make sure we could get in. It's a lovely place, the food is fantastic, wine list really... 更多
We really enjoyed our gourmet pies the meat was lovely and tender and the pastry cooked to perfection accompanied by a great selection of vegetables - thanks Chef Rick
We walked in at 6pm without a booking and were very lucky to get a table as we could overhear wait staff having to turn people away not long after. Food was delicious, we had a garlic bread for entree and my husband had the steak with red wine sauce and I the duck risotto - yummy!!! Our 3 1/2... 更多
I went to the kookaburra Hotel with a few friends, after a day out at Grape Grazing Festival. We all agreed it was one of the best meals around. I had the Kangaroo and it was very tasty, a good portion and lovely sides. The wine list is very reasonable too. We saw Matt Preston dining here while we were... 更多
Had dinner here one night during our trip to the Grampians and went another night just for drinks. Very friendly restaurant/bar. Food was excellent and service professional, but friendly also. Well worth a visit.
Held a business dinner here recently and the food was amazing!!! Positive comments all round. The duck and the beef cheeks being the favorite choice. Prices are excellent and service was impeccable. You won't be disappointed!!
Great restaurant in Halls Gap, visited as good trip advisor reviews. We made a booking and had a great spot next to the fire which was welcoming from cold weather outside! Half of us had the special of slow cooked lamb which was superb and very tasty. Large portions, we couldn't finish our plates! We also had the dessert special... 更多
Incredibly rude service on the telephone - have never had reception like it when trying to book a table anywhere. Will now go elsewhere due to the lack of customer service.
Hi, My husband and I recently traveled to Halls Gap Victoria. We were referred to the Kookaburra Restaurant by family. We loved it so much, we went back the next night! Staff were very helpful and friendly and whilst not 'hovering' were prompt in service. The fire was very welcome and they had several areas that were available. Tables were... 更多
First night in Halls Gap and we had dinner here, quick service, fantastic staff and the food - yummo. We had eye fillet and both hubby and I were very happy with it. The kids had great meals, steak, chips and nuggets and no complaints. Would definitely return.
Unfortunately we did not get into Kookaburra Hotel for dinner. When ringing to make the booking we were asked if our table of four was for adults and it sounded promising but the moment I said it was for 2 adults and 2 children the reply was sorry we just can't fit you in. Which was a real shame as... 更多
