First trip to Memphis and I heard Memphis is famous for BBQ. I chose the place because of glowing ratings on Tripadvisor. It's about 10 miles east of downtown and what a wasted trip. We're from Portland< Oregon and have better BBQ at the foodcarts downtown and the corner smokers in the suburbs. We tried the wet ribs, dry ribs,... 更多
When our out of town family and friends come, they all want "Corky's" from barbcue to tamales, to fudge pie. It's all good. We usually have 25-30 so we order take out.
We are a little partial to Kansas City bbq but this was our second stop on a recent trip to Memphis. We were going to get the dry ribs but after asking around we decided to do a slab of half dry and half wet. The wet was way better! The dry was just that, dry. I thought the ribs... 更多
Corky' s is my favorite Southern bar-b-que restaurant anywhere. Their pulled pork sandwiches and pulled pork plates are delicious. Took a colleague to the Poplar Avenue location during a business trip and she loved the pulled pork plate. We also split the fudge pie - it is divine. I also ate at the Germantown location and the food was equally... 更多
Thanks Laura! We're so glad you enjoyed your visit. 更多
The food is stuck in the high calorie, large portion barebeque style of the 60'. The food is Okay but the sauce and spice were lacking. My wife's 1/2 rack was average with minimum heat. My piulled pork was plentiful but the sauce sparse and some wht at bland. The atmosphere could use some freshening. The service was fine
Both my partner and I were looking for BBQ while in Memphis as we are from Canada. We picked this place at random and although we had ribs throughout Tennessee and Mississippi on our trip these were the best of the bunch. The service was friendly and the portions were large. I prefer the dry rub and they definitely do... 更多
The ribs aren't cooked evenly. The ends are often so tough you cannot chew them. The dry rub has a little too much rub on it when plated. It's like you are eating a mouthful of salt. The atmosphere is nice...and it's an institution in Memphis. The banana pudding is good.
Being from Dallas, TX I did not know what to expect. What an outstanding surprise! Our dinner consisted of one slab of dry rub ribs, coleslaw, beans, fries, pulled pork sandwich, hot bread, and iced tea. I cannot say one thing that needed improving as everything was delicious. Even the to go container was plastic that is recyclable instead of... 更多
Pulled pork bbq sandwich. That's it! All of their food is good but this sandwich is as good as Memphis bbq gets. And Memphis is the best! I have had bbq in AR, TX, NC, SC, GA, FL, AL, MS, LA, TN, KS/MO....and other spots not worth mentioning scattered across the US.
We are from Kansas City so when we went to Memphis we felt it was our duty to give Memphis BBQ a try. Wow it did not fail us at all! Memphis BBQ is dry and the spices are on top but the meat was so tender and the spices were so good. I think I prefer my ribs this... 更多
Pretty decent bbq. Be prepared to wait for a table. Had combo plate of sausage, pork and fried catfish. Pork and catfish were spot on. Sausage, although tender, was way too salty. Mac&cheese was excellent.
