Today was our 1st time at this wonderful little restaurant, but it will not be our last. The best shrimp and grits I've ever had. Crab cakes were wonderful, and delicious crab legs. I can't wait for my second trip!
Our family enjoyed a new experience at Dye's Gullah Fixin's. The food is cooked fresh and in low country fashion. The menu consists of a variety of foods enjoyed by local folks since the early days of settlement. Many of the dishes were favourites of the Gullah folk, slaves and freed slaves as I understand it. One of our family... 更多
After 20 years on Hilton Head Island, Dye's restaurant was wiped out by Hurricane Matthew. The Island's loss was Ridgeland's gain. Now open in a small building near the Post Office, Dye's has brought high class delicious country cooking to town. All entrees are freshly prepared, and come to the table so hot you have to let it cool a... 更多
We used to eat at Dye's restaurant in Hilton Head before it had to close due to hurricane damage. After she moved to Ridgeland, SC, we were able to eat at her new place. Same delicious food! Still the best fried chicken and sweet tea I have ever had. Also love her sides and cornbread. Can't wait to eat here... 更多
The last hurricane wiped out her home so she closed her restaurant. I loved this place! The food was fresh and really great.
Dye's Gullah Fixin's is the best hidden gem on HHI. This is legit Gullah cuisine at its finest. Not some commercialized, mass produced, soulless "soul food" you will find at other places. I've been to Dye's several times and had menu items as well as the buffet on several occasions. I was never big on sea food until Dye had... 更多
This is a no frills establishment. Dye is wonderful. She tries to do everything herself. Eating there is like eating in your grandmas kitchen. Everything on the menu is great. I Will never come to HH without eating at Dyes.
I don't know if I just had a bad experience because there seem to be good reviews. But I truly did not enjoy the food. We were there in the off season so there was a very limited menu and what was offered did not sound good. Once the food arrived it was very bland and over priced. The atmosphere... 更多
Dye's is a great place to visit if you want to try original Gullah cuisine. It's similar to southern/lowcountry food. ie. fried chicken, collard greens, grits etc. We called ahead, which is recommended, and made a reservation. Dye's only has seating for limited times. The restaurant is located inside a small mall on the highway. Hard to find, but I... 更多
