I have been to Robokyo several times. They have good, Fresh sushi but the habachi is average. I feel it lacked flavor and would not spend the money to get it again.
Two weeks ago the restaurant changed their "free kid Sunday" deal. We go to the restaurant for every family meal. We haven't been to the restaurant since the rules change (and their website has not been updated either) Without clear explanation, we were not given the free meal due to new exceptions. Service and food poor! The server was asked about when the show starts ( the chopping of the food and knife twirling). He told us that he did it for the last table, that was it.
This was my first visit to Robokyo. The building and grounds are really nice on the outside, and the interior was interesting. The lobby is small and cramped, but since we had reservations, we weren't waiting long. Food was ok but pricey for what it was. Comparable to an below-average to average hibachi. The atmosphere and building are very nice, making the food more of a letdown. Also most "Japanese Steakhouses" at least have a few Japanese people working in them, especially the cooks, this place has zero.
Interesting menu but the scallops although a good size were suspected of being a little stale. Need something really outstanding to deserve an above average rating. The cooks were efficient, but rushed through their routine. Sashimi was good, miso soup was mediocre. Limited offerings of draft beer. .

In comparison to the other two hibachi places within minutes of here, it is sad. Robokyo is expensive, the hibachi is tasteless and hardly seasoned. The chef wasn't very interactive and the meal wasn't very filling.
