We live near a German community in Iowa and the food we had here was on par with places back home. My wife and I both enjoyed the food. Service was spot on. No wait on a Friday night (it was early'ish). I wouldn't hesitate to go back if I'm ever that way again.
It is located right on US101. Entering makes you feel you have been teleported to Germany. We shared Wiener Schnitzel and I ran out of room before we could sample the desserts. They start with quality ingredients and the chef knows just what to do with them.
Here's a place that can be a rare and welcome change in Southern Oregon. Several authentic German dishes along with imported German beer on tap. Not quite up to quality of top notch German restaurants in bigger cities but fine if you are in the mood for something different. Pleasant Old World décor. great service
We have wanted to try this place for quite some time and weren't disappointed. The portions are adequate and the food is tasty. We had the Dutch meatballs with French bread and a salad as well as the jäger schnitzel with the chowder and rye bread.
Loved our experience at the Blue Heron! Enjoyed the traditional German decor and food, which was pretty darn good. My husband ordered a piece of carrot cake after our lunch, and it was HUGE! Very friendly servers, and I bought one of the owners books about his life and business post WWII.
New owner is a very devoted young man. He started working for the previous owner 15 years ago as a night job. Now he owns the place. Great guy with great ambitions and the food proves it! My Wife and I with our German blood both love German food. I did not expect to find German/ Seafood. Big portions, nice... 更多
Ate here twice! The food and service were wonderful and the desserts to die for! It's a bit pricey, but so are most of the restaurants in Coos Bay, especially if you add drinks.
