Nine of us dined very well here today. Brought our dog along too. Service was courteous and the pub grub jolly good. Good selection of cask beer to wash it down. Do visit..well worth it.
The mixed starters you can get, and the delicious ice creams and sorbets for dessert are both excellent. I had the burger which was generous, but the meat wasn't particularly flavourful. The garlic fries also weren't particularly garlicky but we're still very tasty. The pub has a great feel to it, a really friendly atmosphere, so I'd definitely recommended.
We had a superb meal, despite it being incredibly busy due to it being the local village day. The black pudding and chorizo salad and duck salad starters were both superb and the pork main course was absolutely delicious. We usually drink beer when we visit the Yew Tree but on this occasion we had a fabulous bottle of German... 更多
My partner and I came for a meal after spotting the pub on our way home. As we entered the staff did not welcome us and seemed too busy or uninterested to ensure we had a table and menus. When the food arrived it was extremely basic in flavour and presentation seemed sloppy. The staff did not seem like they... 更多
The bar food menu is lovely. Little sausages, haddock goujons etc are very nice. Very prompt service, reasonably priced. The ceiling decoration is the stuff of nightmares but I won't mark down for that. The main menu is a bit predictable and is cooked to the standard you'd expect from a village pub.
This is a nice pub with a better than average menu. The food is locally sourced and was cooked wel. The staff were helpful and friendly. Good selection of draught beers too.
due to other appointments, we had to meet on a Tuesday rather than our usual Thursday. Only five could make this due to various happenings but we successfully navigated here despite a) there being another Yew Tree inn in nearby Banbury and b) on googling the Yew tree Spurstow, the Google entry gave two post codes. The first mentioned is... 更多
We had been aware of the reputation of the Yew Tree but after a recent meal the food was very disappointing. Soggy chips that looked like they had been reheated, uncooked batter on the fish. There were quite a few empty tables so maybe the quality of the food is beginning to tell.
went out for a quick dinner to avoid cooking and as usual had a decent experience but as I stated on pub review form they need to step up the quality a little. the menu is good but it seems that due to popularity and volume of trade they can cut a few corners. My wife had the crispy battered... 更多
