If you can overlook the dilapidated building, and eclectic decor, and you love food like Mama used to cook, you will love this place.
Southern soul food just like grandma made...the atmosphere will remind you back when you would sit and wait; while smelling the aroma in the air, for grandma to finish cooking
If you are looking for soul food, this is the place. Today, I had a veggie plate - macaroni & cheese, spicy collard greens, mashed potatoes with gravy and fried green tomatoes. Oh...and some cornbread. For a whopping $5.50. Seriously, I would pay double for that. But even if the price wasn't so amazing, I'd still give it 5 stars.... 更多
Unique atmosphere with lots of Civil Rights history. The food was some of the best Soul Food I've ever tasted. The Meatloaf has a rich tomato gravy smothering it, Um. Collards and fried green tomatoes were to die for. Home cooking on steroids.
Everything is made from scratch. Every vegetable dish is delicious, even the rutabaga! And you don't just get "greens" -- you get a choice of three different greens of the day! The meats also are fabulous, including real downhome specialties like neckbones, oxtails, ham hocks. You'll have to visit several times to try everything! Unfortunately I've never saved room for... 更多
We were traveling through MS and found Bully's Restaurant offered home cooking. All my family agreed that the food was excellent. We had pork ribs, beef ribs and catch fish with assortments of sides from Mac-n-cheese, fried green tomatoes, collard greens, mustard greens, and yams. We were so full that we decided to order desserts to go from peach cobbler,... 更多
We've lived in the Jackson metro for over ten years, and for some reason Bully's wasn't on my radar. So when that James Beard Foundation award showed up, I thought: "I'm in." Now, I am a product of the Deep South, and I can assure you that I know homestyle Southern cooking. Jackson is rife with plenty of places to... 更多
I moved from the Jackson area approximately 22 years ago. When I returned home I would try to stop in for a good meal. As time passed, I stopped going by on my visits home. I recently returned to Jackson on a trip with a bus full of people. I had no idea where we would be stopping to eat.... 更多
I was passing by Jackson and since seeing the Mississippi Mass Choir is on my bucket list, I thought I would stop and get the scoop on how to do that. After speaking to a local law enforcement officer, that wasn't going to happen, so I asked about where to get some good local food. "Follow me", he said. When... 更多
We were passing through Jackson around lunch time and just looked up a place that looked interesting. Bully's turned out to be a diamond in the rough. The building is from 40 years ago and nothing to look at but the food and service is outstanding. If you want old fashioned home cooking this is the place. The staff treats... 更多
