My Indian friends brought me here because, in their view, it's good Malaysian food. We ordered a bunch of appetizers and the mango chicken (sub chicken for the mango shrimp dish) and it was all phenom. Will definitely be back!
I am familiar with Malaysian cuisine and I know, it is not easy to find Malaysian or its closer neighbor, Indonesian restaurant in Minneapolis. Some of Malaysian food are similar to Indonesian such as nasi goreng, rendang, satay, laksa etc. We ordered nasi lemak but to be honest, we had far better taste of nasi lemak than the one served... 更多
I know Malaysian food well so it is fun to find a restaurant because there aren't many. Usually run by Chinese but do offer some traditional Malaysian dishes like Roti Chani and Beef Rendang. Roti was above average but Rending was not a good cut of beef and had a lot of fat. Seasoning was also not as good as... 更多
We wanted a nice steamed fish. They suggested the sea bass. What did we get... what looked like a chunk of fish reheated in a microwave. It had that exploded effect and the outside skin was all torn apart. In addition, it was basically tasteless. The belacan shrimp used to actually have some spiciness and that funky belacan flavor, but... 更多
We had lunch at this lovely restaurant a week or so ago and I was tempted by the lamb shanks, a special they were offering. It did not disappoint. I was a little nervous, having never experienced anything more exotic than Chinese-American food! Upon entering, I was delighted by the aromas coming from the busy, open kitchen. While I admit that... 更多
This restaurant is on Eat Street, the 17 block dining district, and this was the only one we tried on Eat Street. I am a little biased, as I have always liked Malaysian food for that delightful amalgamation of malay, chinese and indian flavors to create something better than the sum. We had the lamb rendang that was very good, as... 更多
The menu is huge and great for sharing dishes family-style to sample a lot of things in one visit. The service was a little slow and they forgot a few items we ordered but they made it up to us with a free dessert and were kind about it. I recommend getting the Sizzling Beef, and the Spicy Golden Softshell... 更多
In a town starved for good Asian food, this is the one place you should go. The tables are spaced well, you don't get the feeling that the wait staff would like you to finish your meal and leave. Ther eisn't a better place in the Twin Cities.
