The best part of this Irish pub is that they open practically at any time to show international rugby. To accompany the game there is a good variety of beer and as some games are early, a very good breakfast.
I make it a point to hit the Harp and Fiddle every time I am in Bethesda. The food is most excellent (particularly the steak and Guinness pie and fish and chips). It's a fun and relaxed atmosphere that is easy to walk to (just a couple blocks off of Wisconsin) with a great staff. Highly recommended.
This is an Irish pub, not a gastropub. Don't eat. Just drink. I ordered fish & chips. Chips were good, but the fish was tasteless and the batter falls off easily. That didn't matter since the batter was limp and bland. Tried someone else's sweet potato fries and they were good. Everyone at the table was hungry enough to finish... 更多
I did early happy hour one evening and the place was almost empty - some people sitting outside and a few people at the bar but I was the only one sitting at a table. That said, the staff were very quick with my drinks and friendly with some recommendations. The food was a little on the salty side but... 更多
Our group of 6 adults, 3 women and 3 men, went to this pub for a night out away from the kids. We walked into the place and had no idea where we should sit or who we should speak to. While standing around aimlessly, someone finally approached us and asked how many of us there were. We told her... 更多
The fish tacos were good, the draft beer was cold even though the glasses weren't. A few TV's inconveniently placed so you're not able to sit at a stool and watch them, but that's really not the point I suppose. No wifi so you actually get to socialize.
Flanagan's is probably the only true Irish Pub left in Bethesda (and probably the tri-state). Amazing All wood high ceiling bar huge bar - lovely draft beers - capped off by a wonderful owner - Steve. He will even do a gluten free fish & chips (if you ask nicely). My daughter was very impressed. You got to visit this... 更多
I've been there several times to see the FABULOUS singer /songwriter and her band that perform there on Sunday nights. Wow! Probably the best band in the DC area... Wait staff has been consistently excellent regardless of how crowded the room is, and has helped with recommendations and specials. Food is good, too. Feels like if you lived in the... 更多
Arrived around 5:30, Sunday night. A few folks eating at the bar, watching football. A group of musicians playing in the back room (fiddle music, nice) and several reserved table signs. We took a seat and received our drinks quickly. Our entrees did take a bit to come out, but we were in no rush. People started to trickle in... 更多
