A lovely shrimp roll starter and delicious scallops completed with a nice risotto salad at the end. Fun atmosphere in a mid-sized central Maine town. Highly recommended!
I did not expect fine food in Waterville, but we were pleasantly surprised by 18 Below. Basement ambience was well done. Menu was varied. Raw oysters and accompaniments were excellent. So were oysters Rockefeller. Rack of lamb good but a bit overwhelmed by mashed potatoes. Roasted eggplant was a winner. Good service and beer. Plenty of menu choices. We'd be... 更多
When I descended into the rather dark eating area my expectations were a bit low. Four of us went because of online reviews and were hoping for something special. Just let me say this: we have been coming to Waterville for a lifetime (30 years) and have always been searching for great food but alas, never could find it. Until... 更多
We eat there often, love the service, and mussels. Good food for the price, one of the better places in eat in Waterville. Small and friendly which makes it very nice to eat and relax.
We were visiting family who recently relocated to the Waterville area. They took us to 18 Below about a month ago. Yesterday we were visiting again and we asked my husband where he wanted to go for dinner...it was his birthday. He said he wanted to go to the same place we had been before....18 Below. We loved the food... 更多
The food and service here are top notch. Some of the dishes are very innovative. The Argentinian Beef, which is sadly rarely offered, is one of the best steaks I have ever had. Been here dozens of time never disappointed with the food. My only knock is that this place can be VERY noisy. Basement setting, brick walls, sound reverberates... 更多
The four of us tried out this place for the first time. Mussels were excellent. The salmon very good and the duck very different. Never had it in chocolate sauce. Takes a while to either like it or not. Beer was plentiful and the service excellent. It's a cozy place with lots of rooms. Definitely different and worth a visit.... 更多
As far as the restaurants in Waterville go, the atmosphere in here was one of the best! Cute, rustic, cozy. Our food was great as well. We had an appetizer of duck breast tenders - delicious. Then I got the seafood trio, which was a lot of food and very good! My fiance had the seafood paella which was a... 更多
When I travel I like to eat at the restaurants the locals eat at because they typically offer great food and service at a reasonable price. 18 Below was exactly that. The lobster cutlet dinner was amazing! I will definitely go back again.
The space is very quaint. We ate in the bar area which was intimate and quiet. The waitstaff were great. The food was extremely salty. I had the lobster cutlet which had too much panko and overpowered the lobster. The risotto was a great concept but the sauce was salty and kind of gloppy. Husband had the Coquilles St. Jacques... 更多
