Stop here on my way to Baldwin City, Kansas. Great KC BBQ. Good rib specials. Clean restaurant and friendly staff. KC has so many BBQ restaurants and when you find one that maintains its quality and value you stay with it.
We ate at Johnny's right before closing time. I had the BBQ Meatball sandwich and it was very good! My husband had ribs with baked beans, french fries and coleslaw. The ribs were very tender and tasty and the baked beans were amazing. He marveled at how crisp the french fries were. The slaw was good.
While visiting the Kansas City area again, our daughter and her family went with us to Johnny's for dinner. The atmosphere and location was a little below what I would expect for a family dinner type of place, so I was a little apprehensive going in. And that's the reason for just 4 stars. But I must say the BBQ... 更多
After being gone from Kansas for over 3 years, I had some pretty crazy BBQ cravings. Johnny's was the closest, and with ties to diners, drive ins, and dives how bad could it be? When you pull up you definitely notice the hickory smell, walking in you see a no frills BBQ joint with random things here and there. You... 更多
Great BBQ and the regular size sandwiches match up to others large. Not drenched in BBQ sauce as the meat is tender with that great smoked flavor. You can add your own sauce to meet what you like. The service is friendly and fast with a wide selection on the menu to cover the whole family. Really enjoyed the fried... 更多

Johnny's BBQ is a tried and true experience. They know meat and how to do it right. Everything on the menu is worth a try. The service is fast and friendly and the atmosphere is fun and welcoming. No pretense here just great food at a very reasonable price.
Johnny's is fast and the food is good. It's not the best in town, but it's better than most. The smell of hickory is real; they use actual wood and not liquid smoke so that is a big plus.
The quality of the meat and obvious love put into this que is what keeps me coming back. Gave four star only because the house sauces are not my favorite, but as said, this is one place that you can leave the sauce on the table.
