We were in Waukegan for only one night and had driven down to Genesee Street in an attempt to find Big Ed's BBQ that evening but the sign on the building said they had moved and having had a long day of travel and not knowing the area we dined elsewhere. The next day we were driving around the Fountain... 更多
A girls weekend up to shop at Gurnee Mills had us stumble upon Big Ed's - purely by accident. We were hungry after battling the Chicago traffic and rearing to explore the area. no one greets you, i was standing there like 3 minutes before i got eye contact , no good service, the food looked dry and old and tasted just like that, my ribs were so dry not to mention my corn bread took a bite and i almost choked, thats how dry it was.....'will not be going back there anytime... 更多

Love big eds at fountain square. The food was excellent and staff was wonderful. Oh and the peach cobbler is to die for. Can't wait to go back.
Sadly, the Downtown Waukegan restaurant has closed and to enjoy their food, a trip to Downtown Libertyville is required. The dry rub and their cooking skill makes the barbecue sauce unnecessary. Looking forward to their new restaurant in Waukegan. Love Big Ed's...and Love Mrs. Ed..always a friendly smile.
