No better place in Decatur to unwind on Friday nights with great Indian street food in a lively people place.
Shared plates, mango punch and a great start to vacation was all on display here.Recently added is the bar at the front. The front of the restaurant! What a great idea for them given there are delays on busy weekends to get a table. Shared sloppy jais with my father and a vegetarian thali with another in my party
I just went to Chai Pani and the parking is a bit of a challenge with other restaurants and cleaner sharing parking space. The great food and service makes it all worth it. The restaurant is a large open space with beautiful pictures on the walls. You order at the counter and they give you a number. There's the hot... 更多
Maybe I'm stingy, but I can't bring myself to rate everything a "5." But Chai Pani is one, in my book. They serve "Indian Street Food" and, not having been to India will have to take their word for it. Funky decor. There is an all-included luncheon selection but we opted for several individual dishes to share. The food it... 更多
not traditional Indian dishes. LOTS of Gluten free options. We enjoyed a few appetizers like the Krispy Kale. Various main courses were all savory and delicious - Okra fries, Seafood sandwhich, Chicken Tandori salad and a side of Basmati rice. Everything we had was excellent, and the service was as well. we went on a Friday night for dinner, so... 更多
Likes: (1) Food ~ Authentic-tasting Indian cuisine. The menu is sufficiently varied: Uttapam, Thali, sandwiches, salads, yogurt drinks and juices. The ‘Vegetarian Thali’ is really good and the ‘Matchstick Okra Fries’ are a must! (2) Parking ~ There is parking on all 4 sides of the building, however, it is limited. There is, however, 2-hr metered street parking all along... 更多
If love Indian food, then Chai & Pani is for you. We started with Matchstick Okra Fries, which are okra fries tossed with salt and sliced very thinly. They are addictive. By themselves, they are flavorful but adding a condiment on the table to add some heat and spice makes them even more tasty. The Samosa Chaat is wonderful. It... 更多
It's hard to describe the food here. Yes, it's Indian Street Food, but that doesn't do it justice. Just go and find out for yourself and make sure you try at least a couple of the appetizers. Also, they have the BEST G&Ts because they make them with real, authentic TRUE Indian tonic water, rather than Schweppes or whatever most... 更多
