I want to start with a disclaimer that I was born and raised Puerto Rico. Thus, I may be a little harsh on establishments that claim to sell puerto rican food. To you reader, please understand that every expat from the island is looking for the "sason de abuelita" that we remember from our time on the island. So we... 更多
The food was so good and the atmosphere was authentic yet modern. The staff was also really warm and friendly. I was just passing through town but hope to eat here again someday.
You definately have to stop and eat at Sol Food! My mouth is watering while I am typing this review. We eat there frequently and love their wide range of selection. The chicken is super tender and full of Puerto Rican spices.
Yes, there's a line out the door. Yes, the building is quite a bright green color! But this is hands down one of the best places to dine. First, the line out the door should tell you how good the food is (rule #1 of a traveler....eat at places where the crowds are and odds are the food is good).... 更多
There is almost always a line out the door--no other restaurant in San Rafael holds this distinction. Why? Because they serve incredibly flavorful, interesting food in a festive environment (you really feel like you're in San Juan or Havana), relatively quickly, and at very reasonable prices.
Our friends favorite restaurant didn't disappoint. Fresh, flavorful, fabulous food. Stood in line for 20 minutes or so at 9:00pm on a Saturday night and it was well worth it. Enjoyed a 1 piece Pollo al Horno Combinaciones with black beans and a savory plantain: I didn't know chicken could be that delicious. Great hand-squeezed limeade. Wish I could go... 更多
You will find a line outside of Sol Food almost anytime you drive by. Generally frequented by young adults who don't mind waiting for a few minutes and are OK in loud crowds. The food is great and while the lines can be intimidating they move quickly. Be prepared to give your order while in line and once inside you... 更多
Ever since Sol Food first opened, I've been a regular at least once every two weeks. I used to meet some business colleagues there and we'd have lunch at least twice a week. However, it was always relatively expensive and prices have continued to climb AND the service has improved somewhat over that time. If the prices were a little... 更多
Simple fresh ingredients perfectly prepared are the specialty. The setting is very informal, picnic tables inside. Chicken, pork, rice and beans are the stars but the magic is in the seasonings, nothing heavy, just perfect. No alcohol but the lime aid is sensational. Service is brisk but friendly. And did I mention the food is delicious.
My friend took me here for dinner recently and the experience was pretty enjoyable. We had the fried garlic plantain topped with cheese and tomato. Now this tasted okay, but what made it taste fantastic was the bottle of sauce they had on every table. I have no idea what it is but it smells like vinegar infused with chili... 更多
Heard about this place though friends and finally made my way over for breakfast. Seems to always be a line out the door but it moves fast. Picked a menu at the door and ordered eggs on rice with bread. Sounds simple and it was but with HUGE flavor! Sits family style seating and a host will seat you after... 更多
