Anytime I am in the San Diego area, I try to get to Jakes for a meal. The food is great, the atmosphere is great, and the view at sunset is spectacular. It can get a bit crowded, so call ahead. Parking on site is a nightmare, so park across the street in the public lot and walk over, or... 更多
What a great treat Brussel sprouts as appetizer were fantastic Ahi on mashed potatoes superb Cheese cake over top Service was professional and courteous Sunset was perfect Great evening
We had a reservation for 12 noon. We encountered lots of traffic. They said they would only hold the table until 12:10. When we arrived, at 12:20, they said the table was not ready yet. They offered another table which was not easy to maneuver for 8 people, as it was a semi circle. The server was friendly and knowledgeable... 更多
Here on a Sunday night with a reservation and shown to the worst table. The section where they put parties that don't include a Y chromosome. Have been here 32 minutes and dinner is over - rush rush rush - why. As an aside the food is terrible.
My husband, daughter and her boyfriend ate here on Easter evening. We used Open Table to get a table for a late meal. What a treat. We loved watching the waves as we enjoyed our meal. Superb service, excellent food combine for a wonderful meal. This visit was our second. Well worth the drive from Coronado island!
What a wonderful place to sit back, watch the waves and enjoy a wonderful lunch! I got the tuna tartare tacos and they were excellent. This is an appetizer so I highly suggest adding the fourth taco if you are looking for a lunch sized portion. Service was excellent and so were the drinks.
Jakes was recommended as a stop on our way to Solana. Perfect choice. We went on a Wednesday about 6:00. Whole place was packed but lucked out and found a table in the bar. Happy hour had great prices, really good drinks and the food was scrumptious. We had the calamari, ahi taretare tacos, traditional fish tacos and KIMO’S ORIGINAL... 更多
Daniel is an awesome waiter. Everyone from my "watergirl" and Lobster girl were awesome. A very pleasurable dining experience. I will go again the next time I make it to the west coast. Save room for dessert, the macadamia nut ice cream on an Oreo crust is just sick. Thanks again Daniel. Ike
Dont' get me wrong, the food was very good, and the waitstaff very attentive. but for the prices on the menu, I would say Jakes did not earn more than average. I have enjoyed wonderful food for a lot less money. Taking nothing away from the people who served us, and the very talented kitchen staff, but an extra cubic... 更多
Jake's has it ALL -- beautiful beach and sunset views, amazing food, great service, and casual but upscale beach atmosphere. Reserve a table by one of the open-air windows (bring a sweater for cooler nights) and you won't be disappointed. The menu had so many good choices that we had a tough time deciding on a couple of entrees so... 更多
We made a reservation for my birthday dinner. When we arrived at 6.00 pm we were accompanied to the table of our liking. The waiter was exceedingly friendly We had the Chef's appetizer selection which my wife and I shared. It was great. The pistachio crusted halibut was superb. The wines were good and very reasonable priced. During the dinner... 更多
Jakes never disappoints but be sure to be ready for high wine bills. Service by Clayton was excellent yet unobtrusive and everyone was extremely professional yet friendly and welcoming. I wonder if Jakes could remind sunset watchers to allow restaurant goers to enjoy the views too? (Beach watchers standing just outside the window blocks the view!) Overall a lovely evening... 更多
Our recent trip to San Diego included a trip to Jake's and we were not disappointed. The atmosphere is quintessential California -- open and airy with unparalleled ocean views. In our view, the dinner menu seemed a little light on choices but everyone in our party enjoyed their selection - the Ahi, seared scallops, surfing steak and the garlic grilled... 更多
