This place is amazing for the open beam architecture, giant ferns and landscaping, the cute tram down the hill, and right by Soquel Creek. We love to eat outside and asked if it was available, to find out they set a table in a cement alcove, just for us, overlooking placid Soquel Creek and were the only people outside and... 更多
Shadowbrook hosted our intimate wedding ceremony and dinner at the end of April in their Redwood Room with adjoining terrace overlooking the Chef's herb and flower garden. It was a perfect evening, with every detail attended to and well-executed. Allyson Fockler, their event planner, was a real joy to work with, always responsive, pleasant, and thorough. The grounds are gorgeous.... 更多
We were asked to wait in the bar for our 5:30 reservation, assuming they wanted to order drinks prior to being seated; we would have ordered, but the cocktail waitress never came back to take our orders. Not a problem for us, but obviously missed revenue for Shadowbrook, as we only had wince with dinner. Our waiter at the dinner... 更多
Food was average. Never really considered duck Ala orange done with canned mandarin oranges. Skin was not crisped but rather saturated with fatty layer intact. Salmon lived up to bon Appétit mag note. Sauce was tasty but salmon was overdone. Service. ..wow. Just because you have a nice venue does not give you a bye from standing up n greeting... 更多
We've eaten here every time we have been in Capitola. This is a great spot, very atmospheric but still ok for the casual meal. The food has consistently been excellent. There is something to appeal to both the special night out or a simple snack and drink evening.
This is by far one of favorite restaurants. I tend to go early and sit on the outside patio. It is not as fancy as inside but enjoyable with a nice view. My husband and I shared oysters and we eat had an item off their main menu. I had grilled salmon that was fixed to perfection. My husband had... 更多
Located on a canal this beautiful location offers a tram to descend to the restaurant or stairs. Outdoor and indoor seating are intimate and beautiful. A menu offering choices for all diets, a wine selection, and an amazing wait staff.
Took their funicular down to the restaurant. Seated on time at nice table. Ordered Martini and a flight on wine. Martini's were terrible. Sent back twice. Ordered Artichoke soup which was great, Seafood Pasta and the Scallop dish. Server brought main course while still eating soup and asked to leave on table. I told him he was rushing us and... 更多
This restaurant has been around for many years. We went there for my 70th birthday. Beautiful grounds. I suggest you walk down the many stairs and then take the funicular up after eating. Food and service were wonderful.
Wow! What a great place this is. The history, the ambiance, the décor, the architecture, geography and yes, the food. Went here over the weekend as a late day dinner choice. So glad we did. Ditto what others have said about atmosphere, and the food is really good! Start the evening you can walk or ride here from "downtown" Capitola.... 更多
This was one of the better dining experiences I've ever had! The service was awesome, the food was excellent and the restaurant itself is amazing! The views were awesome with some local kids paddleboarding up the creek. The only down side? It was very expensive.
Atmosphere is fantastic. What a great restaurant. Multiple different dinning rooms each with its own motif. All overlook the creek. The food is very good. I had the prime rib which was good. My daughter had the shrimp scampi special which was excellent. My son had the herb crusted trout and really enjoyed the meal. The service was prompt and... 更多
Waiter forgot an horsdovuer, food was cold, and certainly not worth the expense. Ok, the tram was entertaining, and the ambiance was comfortable, but not high class for sure considering the darn expense. Don't get me wrong, I had $ to spend on a lovely dinner, the restaurant didn't deliver the piazz that an outstanding foodie is looking for. Wouldn't... 更多
