A little touristic, yes, but I guess that's the point. If you can get over this feeling, get ready for very good African food and some energetic demonstrations of singing and dancing.
A meal at Gold is a brilliant initiation into African cuisine. When I visited the restaurant in Capetown, it was the very first time I was eating any African food and I have to say I completely enjoyed my self. They have an adorable shop selling African trinkets which is a great way to start or end your time at... 更多
Although they are small portions, you will still taste 14 different courses for dinner. This is the best restaurant to taste typical African meals. Also, the dancing and singing makes you feel like immersing the culture even more. The dancers are moving floor to floor, so you shouldn't feel annoyed by them. They might stay in front of you for... 更多
The entertainment is alright-- but it's a bit overpowering and intrusive. It was almost impossible to have a conversation. Some people may be alright with that-- but just keep it in mind. The most disappointing thing, however, was the food. This was by FAR the most expensive restaurant we went to in Cape Town, and was also by FAR the... 更多

Went there for an evening were We Are Africa Awards Party was hosted, I liked the true African vibe there, drums from west Africa, the food was great also, the waiters kept the food coming and drinks coming, we were entertained the whole night.
We went to Gold for the last night of a 10 days tour from US of 47 people. I am gluten free so Tour Guide checked with I think Cindy what food I could and couldn't eat. Cindy came and spoke to me, made me fabulous tapioca cheese bread instead of wheat bread others had, made the fish cakes (frikkadels)... 更多
A dinner show with a set menu. The serving was too fast, the show a bot too much, but still: both the food and the show was good.
Dear Rune&B Thank you for your positive comments about our dinner and entertainment, we apologise if you felt the food... 更多
We went yday night at 630 pm for the drum session followed by the diner. we had a lovely time for the 10th birthday of our son. Everybody seemed to care and the food was really good. A must seen in cape town!

Gold is quite unique - best to go in a group. The Industrial Chic premises are huge, semi-open-plan ,with stairs connecting the different levels. Roving teams of dancers, drummers and musicians entertain the guests at intervals during the set-menu African feast. The costumes and decor are excellent - details include colourful quality crockery, edible gold-dust sprinkles, individual pot-bread,.etc. The food is... 更多
This was easily one of the best meals and experiences that I have EVER had in Cape Town, which (considering I live here) is no easy feat. The welcome, the drumming, the PHENOMENAL food, the atmosphere, the interactive entertainment - EVERYTHING was so amazing. I have been raving about it to friends and family ever since and can only give... 更多
I was luckily enough to be invited to a private tasting of the new winter menu recently and wasn't disappointed. Have been to GOLD on a number of occasions previously for Birthday Party and a pre wedding dinner for an overseas family member. The new menu takes their African cuisine to a new level. Exciting tastes and visually very pleasing.... 更多
Fantastic night out which started with a 30 min drumming lesson... African style, serious workout but fun.. than delicious food from various parts of Africa [3 course] and loads of entertainment in between with customer participation. The atmosphere was fabulous and fantastic and friendly staff. Overall a great night out not too be missed... great for family and freinds
Food was very good and great choices. We had different platters of African dishes. During the courses the restaurant staff and performers sings and dances. The costumes are colourful. Please remember to bring your camera. The restaurant is large and lots of stairs. Local wine and drinks are not too expensive. This would be a great evening for a group... 更多
A very different experience to normal dining. A real fun night out, drumming, eating, dancing, story telling in an awesome atmosphere. Cuisine a good mix of Cape Malay and African. Staff are incredible. Will definitely recommend. Local is definitely lekker.
This restaurant was a very good place to sample south african food. They also featured live entertainment which was excellent. Several courses were served which for us was a lot of food. Thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
