A wide variety of food and drink in a friendly and lively atmosphere. Thoroughly enjoyed visiting this place.
We have been here a few times for lunches and suppers. It never fails to surprise me at what a great place and food it has. Parking is limited but understandably so as it is popular. Nice place just to enjoy a beer!
After reading the enticing menu, now with dishes flagged as banting, vegetarian or chef recommendations, the actual food although well presented tasted somewhat mediocre. Service was excellent and brisk, and clearly the locals are happy so maybe it's a question of just adjusting food expectations and embracing the pub vibe.
Good attentive staff. Great selection of beers. Not just SAB I'm glad to say though their Forries Pale Ale is really good. But pricey. Pizzas are really good and a great venue for informal beer, friends, pizza and atmosphere. One of my favourites. Winter or summer.

If you are looking for a great pub experience in the Southern Suburbs in Cape Town this is it. The food is always good, quite a wide variety of dishes on offer & of course drinks. A lovely indoor-outdoor dining experience & don't forget the rugby on screen!!
That was the worst dinner we've had in Newlands in a while. No one to greet me and I eventually seated myself, waiting for 3 other family members. Totally ignored by staff. very busy. Packed. We were 8 adults. waiter immediately accommodated us. Order drinks/ No delay. Table attended explained all specials. Surprised when we ordered our meals. We did not have to wait long. Food excellent. Definitely visit again at next visit to Cape Town
