I always enjoy visiting Don Jose' when I'm in Homer. Good Mexican Food in a friendly setting. Good service.
Alaska is known for their seafood obviously and not for Mexican cuisine, but if you're a Southern Californian like my husband and I, we can't go very long without our Mexican food "fix". We've eaten at this restaurant each time we've visited Homer, and I would recommend.
In no way can the food be considered authentic, fresh, or of high quality. Having been to this restaurant several times, I've realized that it is a waste of time and money. This place does a nice job on Mexican food. If you need a break from seafood, I would recommend this place. We had the enchilada's trio (one of 3 different kinds) and they were great. Drinks are a bit pricey, but the food is always good.

Our favorite place for Mexican in Homer. Always enjoy the tableside preparation of guacamole. Nice ripe avacados and your choice of ingredients to make it right just for you. Menu pretty standard and quality is reliable, though not spectacular. Good for your Mexican fix.
