If you wish to taste a falafel sandwich and you are staying near the Jaffa Gate, then try this place.
We just stopped to have a juice - everywhere in Old City, oranges, pomegranates and other fruits are being pressed, but we stayed for more. Without payment, our glasses got refilled, the fruits were ice-cold and super yummy and the falafel we tried was of good quality.
I'm a falafel fan! I ordered just falafel, without salad and pita bread. The owner is very kind to accept my request. The falafel is bigger than other restaurants. Freshly cooked, amazing although a bit too salty for me! As its a small local restaurant, don't expect any interior decoration! The price is unexpectedly cheap!
DIdn't actually try any food here, only coffee and fresh pomegrenade juice. Juice was awesome, we drank it every morning before going to explore Jerusalem :) Location is very convenient.
The old city has many walk ups where one can get falafel and drinks. This was one of my favorites. The owner was always willing to make up something for me.
This is a super friendly spot with terrific falafel. The owner/chef is happy to show you how it's made and will customize your meal to your liking. Want it spicy? No problem. If you're staying anywhere near the Jaffa Gate, make this a stop.
Wonderful falafel and a treat for first timers. For those who like hummus and pesto, this place also serves those to pair with the falafel. Other snacks and drinks are also available for anyone wanting a snack to go while walking down the cobblestone streets.
I found that falafel is my new favorite food. I think I could have eaten it every day. Loved the fact that it is vegetarian. Hate the fact it is so fattening.
