The food is served in astonishing displays of artistry - flowers and creatures created from vegetables, intricately carved and arranged in beguiling pictures - but they not only look incredible they also taste delicious. Mme Ha, the well-known manager, was not in evidence the day we dined there, but her daughter was very accommodating and charming.
This is famous old imperial cuisine - the presentation was exquisite - friend rice shaped like a turtle, we had a phoenix and a dragon. The setting was lovely, Mme Ha's daughter the hostess, was over-eager and forced in her cheerfulness. Still the service was good. HOWEVER, the food was insipid.
