This was my 4th trip to the Rod and Reel restaurant. Don't expect anything fancy but the food is good and the ambiance is perfect. Great views of Tampa Bay. If you're lucky you'll see dolphins and manatees swimming in the waters around this small restaurant built at the end of the pier.
Over the past few years we have dined watching the above cavorting around the pier whilst we tucked into good hearty food. We visited the R&R twice during our vacation, both times for breakfast. I had a full stack on both occasions smothered in a pint of warm maple syrup. Wait for it to soak in, turn them over to... 更多
If you're on the Gulf of Mexico (literally ON IT) and you're serving a grouper sandwich that is "ok", then you've done a lot of things wrong to get there. A grouper sandwich should be pretty awesome any day. This one was even deep fried and it was still just "ok". Service was friendly and the view was great.
Strolled in for lunch. I had. Cheese steak it was gigantic. It was delicious. Once again everyone In my group was jealous of my food. We sat inside to enjoy the air conditioning and received excellent service. Thank you
cheap, food good ,get em in and out as quick as poss is the policy. NOT A PATCH ON THE OLD PLACE . staff not local, lost its quirky atmosphere.
We had a wait for a table but apparently this is common. Fish and chip lunch very good and so was the grilled shrimp dinner. Tables somewhat crowded but service good. Kind of a fun place if you enjoy watching people fishing from pier below. Cute but very crowded bar.
Golden gem of a restaurant sits on the ocean with awesome views. While we were eating on the deck a Manatee swam by the dock. The food and atmosphere was great. The waiter we had was like a tour guide he was friendly and funny. This is my favorite place to go for a meal.
You have to enjoy the experience of walking out to sea on a pier and sitting down to eat and enjoy the view at the end. Breakfast there if you get the chance, a simple menu but good fare at a reasonable price, beware wait times can be long at busy periods.
We arrived for dinner about 6 pm. We were told there was 1.5 hour wait. Luckily several groups ahead of us left which caused our wait to be an hour. Once we were seated, the food was served quickly. Food was great and the portions where huge.
Our first visit here but I knew what to expect from reviews, a 90 minute wait (prime season)....We like fresh seafood (FL = Mahi, Grouper, Shrimp) and we're fine with no frills and cheap. This is no frills and cheap, a fairly small restaurant on the pier serving a limited menu of fresh fish prepared in basic form with nondescript... 更多
Fish dinners are excellent, wine is so cheap! Borderline tacky, really nice staff. Its on the end of a short pier, saw manatees from the deck. Fun places, amazing views.
We had lunch on the pier...while we waited for a table, we watched local fisherman and others try their hand and reeling in fish. The food was very good, but the tables are crowded close together.
Our family of four including two teenagers had a great dinner here. Yes we had to wait about forty minutes but the dollar sodas and three dollar drafts helped pass the time. It was fun to hang out on the pier and watch the people fishing. Once we were seated Brett our waiter was quick and knowledgable. We order grilled... 更多
We found this restaurant the first night of our week in AMI. We went on a Saturday night and it was busy with an hour wait. The nice part was that there were benches along the pier and the time went fast -- we had some drinks while we waited and had a good time watching the people who were... 更多
We are here for lunch while visiting AMI for spring break. I had the grouper dinner and it was awesome! My husband ordered the fried shrimp and they hadn't even been deveined...which is really gross. So he had to clean them before he could even eat them. He ended up eating the rest of my grouper because it was a... 更多
