Super cool venue with great food! I was there for a group event and we had a set menu, but the food was still awesome! I would also recommend looking into the history/message of the establishment. Very interesting!
In a clever atmosphere reversing Barnes & Nobles model of a bookstore with a small cafe, Busboys and Poets is a cafe with a small bookstore. The atmosphere is jut right for a busy urban neighborhood. I had a gringo variation of huevos rancheros called the Oaxaca Omelette: black beans, cheese, pico de gallo and guacamole, served with whole-wheat toast... 更多
The food was very tasty. My favorite is catfish, grits and collard greens. The entire meal was excellent. Everything was well seasoned, but not over-seasoned.
The food and atmosphere are both exceptional. Unusual menu items make this memorable dining. Vegetarian items are appealing and there really is something for everyone. There may be a wait at busy times but the staff remains friendly despite the bustle. Counter top dining may make for some added interesting conversations. Better to walk as parking may be a hassle.
This restaurant is always busy and there are people eating, reading the using their computers. Its a nice place to go to hear poets in the evening hours. The Reuben sandwich is massive in size along with fries (sweet potato white potato) or a large salad. The Corn Beef is very tender and served with large dill pickle. Too much... 更多
Beautiful people, great food, relaxed atmosphere, and overall great vibe. Multigenerational and multiethnic crowd on this Saturday afternoon. And I thought it was just gonna be a bookstore. But no, this is a scene. I haven't been to a tremendous number of places in DC but this is the first that has all that! Only downside was the food too... 更多
This was a fantastic stop for us on a Saturday evening over the Memorial Day holiday. They have one great eclectic menu, the highlight of which was the coconut encrusted tofu bites. They were out of this world! The lamb sliders were terrifically tasty as well, not to be missed.
My hubby and decided to stop in after having dinner at Eatonville, what a difference. Busboys and Poets was lively, packed just really bursting with energy. I didn't expect much from the food but was pleasantly surprised. We ordered appetizers which were quite good and the service staff was friendly, efficient and knew her menu. You really couldn't ask for... 更多
I was only in Washington a few days, but Busboys & Poets was so good I returned for lunch the next day. The restaurant was recommended by my hostel, which was only two blocks away. Both meals I had paninis - grilled chicken for dinner and grilled brie for lunch. I was amazed by their yellow tomato gazpacho with guacamole,... 更多
Our party of three had breakfast at Busboys and Poets on a Saturday morning in May. We got right in, eventhough the restaurant was quite busy. Our server, Jorge, was extremely pleasant, and had very good recommendations for menu choices. Oaxaca omelette and sweet potato pancakes were quote good.
