I LOVE Nikau and have only ever had great experiences here. Favourites are the sage fried eggs, kedgeree, artichokes on toast or the mussels. Highly recommend.
No water view but a sunny and sheltered courtyard area in addition to indoor dining - we enjoyed breakfast and found the café very receptive to adjusting the meals to our vegetarian tastes - great service and food; highly recommended - hot breakfasts and coffees for 2 for well under $20 a head :-)
Kelda, co-owner and chef, is a legend in Wellington for her kedgeree, which is a great lunch dish. The menu is varied and the service is excellent. Often full at lunch time, it pays to book. Lovely light atmosphere, with outside courtyard. Closed for dinner.
Came here to a business client function. The staff were friendly and attentive. The canapes were delicious and the wait staff were helpful when handing these around.The space was small but big enough for about 30 people.

This is definitely a Cafe for Adults. The food is good, albeit overpriced and the wine is even more overpriced. There are some adventurous plates on the menu.
