This was a highlight of a week on Long Island. My husband had the conch salad and it was the best he's ever eaten. Max was very friendly and made us feel so welcome.
Great authentic Bahamian food served in a fun, casual environment by friendly people! Well known for their conch salad which is not to be missed. The menu changes daily but usually includes conch fritters, cracked conch, curry chicken and ribs. Sides of rice and peas, Mac and cheese and fired plantain were our favourites. Accompanied by Sands or Kalik Bahamian... 更多
We drove down from Whymms Villas to visit Clarencetown and stopped at Max's on our way home. We had the famous conch salad which was made right in front of us. I normally do not eat raw seafood but when it was mixed in with the vegetables and drenched in fresh lemon and lime juice, I loved it. I also... 更多
It would be a crime to visit Long Island and not partake of at least one meal at Max's. The conch salad is the signature dish and well worth all the accolades it has been given over the years. Order ahead if you are pressed for time, but enjoying the people and the native ambience is half the fun!
A great selection of beer is a good reason to stop for happy hour at Max's. It is hard to miss Max's orange, green and yellow striped buildings on Government Highway (near the airport) in Deadman's Cay on Long Island, but for local food it is worth a stop. Enjoy a Kalik and Cracked Conch, but come early as it... 更多
Thank you for taking time to write in. It's people like you that make all the hard work worth while. 更多
One of the best local food spots on the island. Service is slow but you're on island time; just don't arrive hungry and instead kick back and enjoy the lazy life!
This place is: at first colorful Small Welcoming Engaging Bursting with island flair Run by happy island folks And has THE best conch salad on this island! It is served with fried breadfruit as chips for scooping this delicious, simple; made before your eyes fresh treat! It shouldn't be served any other way! We had this more than once on... 更多
This is a must see when visiting Long Island. It is very unique with a great staff and drinks. I did not get to try the food but heard it was quite good. Be sure to go to the back section and see all the interesting decorations.
I had heard that Max's was known for it's Conch Salad and it was also a place where local folk went( I was fortunate enough to rent a car from an extremely knowledgable and kind man who told me where two great restaurants were right after I got off the plane as well as where the grocery store was) but... 更多
