The owner of the place welcomed us, he is the great grand son of the founder, who started the business in 1907. The brick-owen grilled beef and the thin pancake-like bread was very good.
There's a reason this place is always busy...it is just great, no fuss food in comfortable surroundings. Paper place-mats, wooden tables placed close together, simple menu with a regional focus. Especially liked the farinata. Staff were fun, service friendly and location under a portico in the old town.
I live in Chiavari and when I have the occasion I always go there to eat in a simple but delicious way. They cook as at home that's why it is so authentic and nice. The restaurant is a real osteria inside and outside it is great because you can eat in the middle of a carruggio, the typical Ligurian... 更多
Extremely delicious food here! Come prepared to eat traditional Ligurian food...it's fabulous! I love the minestrone...it's the best I have ever had...the farinata is mouth watering, the chestnut torta is beyond compare!

I have enjoyed the octopus salad with potatoes, which was good way beyond expectations. Amazing, their chestnuts cake. The waiters are very nice and helpful. Please note that... 更多
This is a typical old fashioned and traditional Osteria, with all its simple fashion and beauty where you can appreciate good Ligurian food. The farinata is probably the best I ever had, the trinette al pesto as Mum would make them, etc. etc. very good and quick service.
There are long tables with stools on each side, just find empty spots across from each other and sit down. They'll tell you - slowly and carefully - the dishes available. Choose a couple. If you want a secondo, order it later. It's busy, bustly but never frantic, the minestrone is great! And the seppie in umido, wonderful. No pretense,... 更多
