Let me start by telling you what this doesn't have. It doesn't have a sea view, it doesn't have a posh room or even a starter menu but there is something about this place that makes you want to stay all day if it was open. It is set in a back street behind the market and the tourist tavernas... 更多
Realised that this place was just round the corner whilst visiting Paphos old town. So glad we made the visit. It was a glorious sunny afternoon so we opted to sit in the outside area. The menu is simple with about 10 different traditional dishes to choose from, each one explained by the waiter for you to make your decision.... 更多
Number one priority when we arrive in Paphos is to lunch at Laona. Andreas and Chris are like old friends and its always good to catch up with the local news but, of course, the whole point is to enjoy one of their home cooked meals. Nothing run of the mill here. All delicious. Ever changing menu board will suit... 更多
A really nice taverna/restaurant in the old town of Paphos. We don't go there very often as we live several kilometres away but today we went there with friends and it reminded us what a find this place is. The welcome from the owners makes you feel like part of the family and the daily menu on chart board is... 更多
This meal was as always one of the best during our visit to Paphos. Service and food was perfect. Chris and Andreas enthuse when explaining every dish on their extensive menu and all turns out expected. Can't wait to return.
If you are craving traditional food, this restaurant is the one to try. The fish cooked in the oven is one of the best dishes you could try, words cannot do this dish justice. The same can be said for all the food on the menu. Which by the way is written on a blackboard. Chris his wife and the... 更多
This restaurant is located close to the covered market in a side street with tables arranged in front of the restaurant. Plenty of shade under umbrellas. It is open mostly for lunch and for dinner on Tuesdays and Fridays. If you are coming up from Kato Paphos, the number 610 bus from the Harbour bus station takes you to the... 更多
I'd read about the restaurant on here and we were not disappointed. The waiter was amazing and very accommodating, I love that the menu is a on a chalk board. I'm veggie and after the lovely waiter went through the amazing sounding meals, I felt a bit mean asking like an awkward veggie what there was for me. The waiter... 更多
I visited Laona for lunch with a business associate on a warm noon. The restaurant seems small and tidy but its hidden magic is in its kitchen. The restaurant serves astonishingly well done traditional Cyprus cuisine for excellent price. It's in an ideal location with very little noise (in a pedestrian alley between two not so busy town center roads).... 更多
We had the mezze selection and we chose the stuffed vegetables, chicken stew, lamb livers, the oven baked fish and meatballs. We enjoyed every one of these dishes and also loved the salad they served with it. Never before have I eaten salad with such gusto! On a hot afternoon it was really refreshing to munch on the freshest leaves,... 更多
Great welcome frm Chris and Andreas, amazing octopus stifado, and all the old favourites of stuffed veg, meatballs and beef stifado and salad - as ever great local food well cooked with friendly staff - what more can you ask for. Even on a cooler day with a breeze the guys had to bring more tables out for additional guests.... 更多
We had a lovely time. The food was incredible, the staff was really helpful and the atmosphere was perfect. Will visit again in the future, for sure. Highly recommended.
A wonderfully authentic Cypriot Taverna, off the beaten track in Paphos Town centre and possibly the only good thing about Paphos town centre! We were impressed from the outset by the service - friendly and welcoming, moving two tables together was no trouble. The waiter then talked us through the whole chalk-board menu, explaining each meal down to the seasoning... 更多
