Great locally sourced fish and meat in a friendly atmosphere. Phillip, the owner is a real character who will take you through the catch of the day. Quite small but as we tend to dine early we didn't need to book.

Small restaurant with a chef/ patron who has a very hands on approach to running his restaurant. The food is good and nicely presented. However it is very small-12 tables, busy and you are packed in!!! If you feel that you should try it then INSIST on either of the two tables beside the windows and go early.

We chose this place because it was near the hotel, and I am so glad we did! Chef Philip is a wonder, and a fun person as well. The food, the atmosphere, the service left nothing to be desired. One of the top 10 meals I have ever had! Reservations recommended due to limited seating.
Tokos has been functioning for many years in Funchal we alwas visit at least once when on Madeira. We had Turbot and if it is on the Menu next time, will certainly have it again. Also inexpensive wine which is a change.
