I went early (it stays open all day) and there was a lot of activity: bags opened, cellars being filled and the staff having an early meal. But, despite all that, the service was good and the chirruping of an artificial reminded me of Malaysia (where I have never been but feel that I have), The speciality is Satay and... 更多
My friend is Malaysian so we decided to try this place and it was fantastic! Great value and the food is amazing! My Malaysian friend commented that it was very good Malaysian food. Definitely recommend!
I searched this restaurant out because I wanted to try Malaysian food and we weren't disappointed. The menu may be a little skewed towards western tastes but the Malaysian recipes shine through. We found the meals full of flavours and very tasty. I had the traditional Malay meal and the waitress gave me good advise to mix all the components... 更多
We came here quite by chance and were delighted by our find. The place was busy which is always a good sign. The place was decorated in sealife and fairy lights which was rather camp but I could have done without the bird song which was intrusive. The menu was reasonable full, though may not have been authentic. This is... 更多
Decided to try this spot out. I usually go to Nyonya however Wau was recommended by many. At first sight it's way more a restaurant than Nyonya and they do serve alcohol (but that's a score or loss). The staff is friendly and they have an extended menu. I went for the laksa and my partner went for the ayam... 更多
Came across this restaurant by chance and for the first time ever ate at the same place two nights running.........and the same choices!! Pesembur and Nasi Lemak.
We ordered the white beer, lemonade (they were out of the carrot and ginger juice), some vegetable curry dish and lamb satay. The vegetable curry was the highlight, really tasty! The only criticism was that the waitress poured my beer without holding the glass so it really frothed up. If that's the biggest problem it's been a good meal! Portion... 更多
Generous and tasty portions await you at Wau. I had the chicken satay as one appetizer, and I apologize, but I do not remember the names of the other appetizer and main dishes, but based on my food and what I saw go by, you won't be disappointed!
They had chips on the table that were the equivalent of a "one-pepper" level of spiciness. I thought this was a brilliant idea. It saved me a lot of heartburn because I learned that one pepper would be too spicy for this lightweight. There were only two main courses on the menu that didn't have any "peppers." I ordered one... 更多
Not too convinced at first also bit pricey for asian food standard, but food was surprisingly nice and I can tell you I am an Asian foody ! Service bit slow maybe because ther was only one waiter at all times.
I've been looking for a Malaysian-Singaporean restaurant in Amsterdam for some time now and was hoping that I'd found one. The menu looked good enough – they had all the correct names of the dishes in both Malay and Chinese dialect, which was enough draw me there for a visit. Unfortunately, Wau just wasn't authentic. The Char Kway Teow dish... 更多
