The reputation is always good, but the food never is. I do not understand the disconnect. Serviceable, absolutely, but special--not at all. How sad for me, but Belle Donne has now moved into the ranks of those restaurants I have stopped giving second chances to.
This small restaurant was perfect for a group of six on a Saturday evening. We made reservations last minutes without any problems. The food was very good, especially the raw beef on a bed of arugula. The crowd was mixed with both Italians and some tourists.
Ate an enjoyable meal which included chicken with tomato and bacon, ravioli with white meat sauce and meatballs in tomatoes. The meatballs could have been hotter, but the rest of the meals were delicious. The chestnut pudding was exquisite and the gelato with fruits very tasty. A pleasant experience that is best taken inside as there is not much to... 更多
We stopped for lunch after arriving at Florence train station. The restaurant is on a small street with the same name. Waiter was very friendly. The dishes were very savory -- ossobuco and chicken. Sauces were tomato based. Great spinach. Small but diverse menu.
Let me start by saying the food was excellent. We had a great meal and wine - thoroughly enjoyed every moment. The service was up and down, 2 out of three were great, the other one should not be in the industry. Great location off the beaten path.
I tried this after reading about on a magazine...really disappointed. Service was frosty and uninterested...food was blend, poorly presented... I was really disappointed. The place itself is cute...but that's it.
This is a small osteria makes me come back every time when I am visiting Florence. We can always emerge ourselves in this little Tuscany kitchen, spoil ourselves with good food and good service. Reservation strongly recommended even you go solo.
