Really good gelato from the place everyone on Tripadvisor seems to recommend. The chocolate with chilli and ginger had a surprising kick to it but nice to have the option of something a bit different. Can be hard to find and I wandered past once before doubling back to find it.
My family including my two kids loved this Cremaria. We had the ice cream with the faces, which consisted of vanilla and a chocolate cover and the limone as well as the passion fruit ice cream. Would definitely recommend it to everyone and will go there again!
There is a difference and basically gelato is whole milk and no air, ice cream is cream and air. Simple. Avoid the huge bars and have a few small ones in a pot from this place rather than a huge obscene cone. Their selection of flavors may not be as large as some of the other tourist traps but this place uses quality ingredients and is serving DELICIOUS gelato. I tried another place across the street and there was no comparison. Staff was also friendly and knowledgeable about the source of ingredients, not ushering you through like cattle.
As Sirmione looks like a small ice cream empire you need to take few more steps from the big ice cream shops on both sides of the road and get into this small place. We rasted a lot of different flavours. In general high quality gelato. But I have definitely tasted better chocolate(dark and light) and strawberry ice cream in other talian cities like Venezia and Rome. But this restaurant has the best Ice cream in Sirmione and the best Melon and pistachio I have ever tasted. Lemon was also great.
This is a family owned, authentic, artisanal Cremeria using only the finest quality ingredients. The charming and knowledgeable Patricia and I bantered about the origin of gelato. She so wonderfully described the ingredients used that I suggested that she belonged among the annual Gelato test panel in Cefalu. I highly recommend the lemon creme, pistachio and granita di mandorle.
