This restaurant offers some of the most delicious cuisine in Rome with charming friendly waiting staff. The semifreddo is a majestic.
Our hotel called to make a reservation at this restaurant because it was recommended by friends. After our 5 star restaurant (Hotel Indigo/ St. George) confirmed the reservation at 8pm, we arrived with our 3 children to be told that no reservation had been made. After acting like they did us a great favor by offering us a table and... 更多
After checking so many reviews and asking friends and local colleagues I decided to book Piperno and very happy to say was not disappointed. Excellent traditional food, followed suggestions: shared typical Rome 'fried' starter which included the carcofi - it was unusual and quite delicious! Followed by liver (apparently excellent), while I had the carbonara which I still dream of.... 更多
Hidden away in the Jewish ghetto section of Rome, this old restaurant is clearly a mainstay, maintaining old world traditions and a fine dining atmosphere. We had suppli, potato croquettes, fried artichokes and caprese as appetizers. All were excellent, and the fried artichokes were crispy on the outside with a nice creamy heart center. Hard to find little restaurant in the Jewish quarter. Based on the reviews, we were looking forward to trying this place. Perhaps it was because we were there on Sunday afternoon but we were disappointed. Excellent fried artichokes, the rest of the food, not so much. Plus, they were out of several of the items we initially chose. The service... 更多
Had dinner here on the recommendation of a roman guide. It is situated off the beaten track in the Jewish Ghetto on a typical piazza. The place was almost full of Italians and few tourists but we found a good table in the elegant room. Carciofi alla Giudia (fried Jewish artichokes) are their specialty and were simply delicious. Great service... 更多
We went to Piperno the first day because our hostess in Rome recommended us this restaurant. A bit hidden but amazing food! We tried many other pasta in many different places around, but we could not find anything similar to Piperno! We had to do another reservation on our last meal in Rome! Absolutely fantastic !
The food is uninspiring. The artichoke was deep fried but unseasoned and bland. The saltimbocca was fine but the sea bass was a large overpriced portion, served steamed with no garnish, sauce or embellishment. I'm sure it's an institution but I'd say it needs to make more effort. It reminded me of restaurants in London from the 1970s which is... 更多
