A lovely old traditional bar with lots of space. The waiter was very helpful and the food, quality. Mushrooms in autumn - yum.
We were walking around the centre of Madrid and stopped for a break at the Taberna Real. We thought a quick drink and rest, watch he world go by if we sat outside. The place seemed nice enough and was in a good spot but the service became something of a surprise. The chap who served us was really grumpy.... 更多
First of all I should declare that I love Madrid tapas bars so we are off to a good start here. This bar is located in a main tourist areas of central Madrid, so prices are a little high. This is the only connection with tourists - it looks and feels exactly as great Spanish bars should be so do... 更多
We weren't up for eating much the first evening, having had a big lunch, but we were warmly welcomed and sat on the terrace, despite it being for diners only. After a few drinks, we shared a serving of the best croquetas we've eaten anywhere in Spain (and my husband is something of an expert!) We returned the following evening... 更多
We only visited here in the evenings for a drink (our teenagers didn't fancy the menu, although it looked OK to us!). Very friendly waiters - if you like olives with your drink you won't be disappointed!

Stumbled across this place whilst walking through Madrid. At around 11pm the place FILLED with an older crowd after the nearby Opera finished. Elderly Spanish people are ROWDY! The place has a great friendly vibe and great food. The English menu is terribly translated but our waiter, Guido speaks perfect English and was super helpful. We returned 2 nights later... 更多
Taberna Real is a great place to chill out for a drink in the afternoon after a few hours shopping. The beers cold and they give you a good serve of wine which is welcomed. Views over plaza Isabella and the olives they serve (ask for the green ones) are very tasty. The waiters are friendly and attentive but speak... 更多
You might look at this place and not know what to think of it. Is it too touristy? Too local? It was neither. We went on a food tour and learned about their very high quality Iberico ham and had some pan con tomate and almonds while we munched on ham. Great classic decor and well situated a bit away... 更多
