What a great place!atmosphere, fantastic authentic food, excellent wine and to finish quite cheap.trust me,a must go to when you are in Santiago!
Anuther key stop in the old part of town.Good variety of typical dishes, good for sharing(that is what most locals do,stop in each bar and have one drink and some tapas,so you go out and have dinner ''while'' you are going out).Very welcoming and good value.Cosy atmosphere.
We arrived late at Santiago de Compostela and decided to dine in a restaurant close to our hotel. And we went to Maria Castaña. As appetizer, cured cheese from Galicia. Then, rice seafood. Wines: Rias Baixas, Albariño and Monterrei Godello. Everything was fine and delicious. And the waitress was very efficient and friendly.
I don't think Santiago is a great place for restaurants generally - too many one time tourists passing through for that. However this place gets quite good reviews and we had some good food here. I particularly liked the rice with seafood. Cheese and salsa were also good and service was efficient.
A cool day in Spain calls for soup. The pilgrim soup is robust, warm and full of flavor. Try the tomato salad with goat cheese large portion- can be shared. The staff are friendly. The bread is nice with the soup. Try wine or a beer. Closes after lunch to prepare for dinner.
We sat in the courtyard which looks onto the street. The waiter was helpful and suggested we eat next door in the same resturants cooler room. Eventually we went back to the courtyard where our original table had been saved. We shared 4 dishes, good calamari made from actual squod not frozen also claims marinara and octopus with garlic finishing... 更多
After walking the Camino we tasted many Pilgrim's Galician soups and this was by far the best! The cheese platter was okay. A little communication problems with our waiter since we do not speak Spanish, but another waiter helped out. Really enjoyed our meal
Delicious food and great service! Only 8-10 table and a bit crowdy, but that just gives it the charm and authenticity that puts it over the edge. Order one dish per person plus one for the table, and you have more than enough to go around. Also, do not say no when the waitress wants to give you a complimentary... 更多
We were tired and we just decided to go there without doing a lot of research. The service was actually very friendly but there was only one waiter for around 8/10 tables, ergo it took a bit to place the order. We had razor clam with a garlic and I really liked it, we ordered mejillones with an urchin cream... 更多
