Returned here again this year and just as good as last time. A family run business and it shows. Good food and wine at a reasonable price. Well worth a visit.
OK - Chinon is full of small, chic, fine dining experiences. The catch is that they get 'complet' quickly so if you haven't booked you can wander a long way without sustenance. We ate here in the evening. Although not that busy and lots of empty tables, we were refused the table we requested because there were 4 chairs around. We were offered a less appealing table and later on the table we wanted was split into 2 x 2 seater!! Service was slow and we were brought the wrong drinks. Pizzas... 更多
The food was aright, if you like chips with everything. One member of staff (Mum I think) could have tidied herself up a bit before waiting on tables. Decor a bit naff, but otherwse not bad. Hardly my best ever review.
Yet another mediocre eatery. Where do we get the idea that you can eat well in France for a reasonable price. The main dish was strips of lamb on tagliatelle - rubber delight. They should pay for the 'che'f to have some cooking lessons. Good waitress, although I felt a bit embarrassed for her at what she was serving up.
We had a great steak and delicious pancakes and chicken nuggets for the children. They didn't mind that our 2 year old was super noisy and had high chairs and really child friendly staff.
So nothing too flash here, but competent and flavoursome food for very reasonable prices. My steak & chips was ok (most likely blade steak and tasty but chewy). The kids enjoyed their pizzas as did my wife. Nice crispy edges but soft on the bottom may mean the oven was not hot enough. Still, very happy they were open on... 更多
