As always, worth its money as the quality of the food is very good. Friendly staff :) Even if the restaurant doesn't look like a restaurant in the beginning - still it has its own charm and makes you feel comfortable
We have been visiting the Ivory Tower probably about once a year for the last decade or so and we are really fans of the place. It’s in a lovely quirky room overlooking Oliver Plunket Street full of curiosities even the plates are vintage!! We most recently dined there on New Years Eve and went for the 8 course tasking... 更多
This is one of the only True experimental gourmet dining experiences in all of County Cork (it's in the city). Seamus O'Connell is a wizard with food - his balance of Ying & Yang, East Vs West and unexpected combinations (Shark Steak with Banana Ketchup) never fail to excite the palate with new experiences.Wide ranging but set-menu's at fixed prices,... 更多
We were invited by friends to dinner at the Ivory Tower just before Christmas. What a treat. From the moment we stepped through the door, we knew we would enjoy ourselves. The decor is arresting. Full of treats and visual surprises. The places oozes character. It is different. You are promised something special, just by the wall art and layout... 更多
Love this restaurant, great food ,good crack waitress. We had E50 set menu which had plenty of choice and was good value. Petit Bouche of marinated herring to start was delicious I had beef veal liver beautifully cooked followed by apple/calvados sorbet and a main course of swordfish which was superb. My dining partner and current wife had carayfish sausage which was... 更多
We had a delightful meal in a wonderful friendly and eclectic atmosphere, we tried the Japanese tasting menu which was delicious, i loved the marinated herring with plum overtones which left me feeling like I could see the plum trees in Japan, I had my first Umami experience which was also wonderful and some bluefin tuna belly sushi also was... 更多
We thought it was great and would give a special mention to the starter of veal livers, the miso broth and the main of tuna belly. The food, service and atmosphere were really combining well together and we had a very pleasant evening. On the night we went, there was a 30e market menu which was incredible value.
We found the experience to be overrated. We had 8 course Japanese tasting. Most dishes had average taste and average presentation and in our view the offer is completely overpriced (€60 euro per person excluding drinks). Really disappointing...
On climbing the stairs to The Ivory Tower one could be excused for having doubts as to what sort of place was being entered. Fortunately we'd had some good recommendations and despite the unusual decor and ambiance we strode in confidently. After perusing Seamus' unusual menu my wife and I opted to trust Seamus and selected his "Tasting Menu" with... 更多
