We go to Browns about twice a year when in Glasgow and always seem too be served by Michael who is such a good waiter and nice guy that the experience is great from the start. We had a burger, the cod and kids had fish and chips. We also shared a scallop starter. It was reasonably busy (Friday lunchtime)... 更多
Browns in Edinburgh used to be a firm favourite of my wife and I, and the news of a Browns opening in Glasgow was welcomed. I've visited a few times for drinks, however had the pleasure/misfortune of eating with work colleagues last night. And it was poor. I had a goats cheese and walnut starter which was decent but hardly... 更多
We hadn't booked, on a busy Friday night, but only had to wait 30 mins for a table, at the bar. Very relaxed atmosphere with a good mix of drinkers and diners accompanied by a chilled out pianist. The service was attentive but not overbearing but the food was only a 6/10 with smallish portions and a lack of garnish.... 更多
Lunch on a Saturday. £12 for pasta, £ 10 for salad. You might expect something fairly substantial. Not the case. Main course price, starter size. Won't be returning. Very expensive wine too. Service from zoe was good, but after highlighting the woeful portions, a 15 % service charge seemed inappropriate.
Went to Browns yesterday afternoon, waited at the bar and bar staff girl at other end clearly saw us, ignored us and carried on cleaning. Was told by a passing waiter that we can take a seat and that someone will come and take our order. He didn't return but was seen walking past showing another couple to a table... 更多
Daytime deal at the moment is 2 courses for £10 and runs 12-6. Worthy of trying so in we went, having reserved in advance. Lovely inside with a separate bar area. Fairly limited choices but for the price you can't expect much more. We both took the mushroom fricasse to start and whilst the portion was painfully small, it was... 更多
My wife and I with friends had a meal on Good Friday at night and pleasantly entertained by piano playing in background. Internally nicely decorated in a good situation facing George Square. Food was very good with a wide choice on the menu. Reasonable prices and friendly service. Only small issue was that waiter was too quick to top up... 更多
I'd only every been to Browns for cocktails before - which have never disappointed! So, when my friend suggested we meet there for breakfast while she was visiting from London I was looking forward to trying the food. When I arrived, my friends had ordered croissants while waiting on me - but after 20 mins they still had not arrived!... 更多
Really very friendly service, nice atmosphere when is busy became a little noisy cause is too big! Food is average and the portions is a bit small. The waiters are very kind!
I went here with my cousin for lunch on Good Friday. Despite being busy, they found a table for us very quickly and we had a lovely lunch from the 2 courses for £10 menu. The food came quickly, everything was very tasty & the portion sizes were good. I particularly enjoyed the fish risotto which was one of the... 更多
I visited on Saturday with my two daughters to have a meal as part of my daughters 30th birthday treat. The staff and restaurant were lovely. The three tasteless burgers and dried up cold fries were an expensive disappointment. We were given an alternative rose wine that was nothing special either. The cocktails were lovely though. Maybe just a bad... 更多
