We were staying nearby so decided to give this pub a visit. Food was good and staff friendly apart from guy in charge who was a bit grumpy! It was busy so expect he was a little stressed. Strange to find that dogs were allowed into eating area. I thought that this was not allowed due to health and hygine... 更多
It's not the first time to Magnum and it won't be the last. An independent place with great food in a great atmosphere. Friendly staff and a good crowd so don't walk past and give it a go, you won't be disappointed.
Had an excellent lunch in the Magnum. It would be easy to walk past thinking it was just a pub with pub grub but that would be a mistake. The quality of the food was far beyond that. The menu was interesting and the food very tasty. It was busy when we were there which was good to see. There... 更多
We had a very nice meal at The Magnum. We were warmly greeted by the owner, who shared a glass of whisky with us and went over the menu. The chef does a wonderful job with seasonal ingredients -- we enjoyed the salmon and the lamb, and even this American loved the haggis spring rolls. Nice wine list. Service was... 更多
Magnum was just down the street from our B&B and was recommended by our host, so we tried it the first night and loved it enough to also eat there a second time! My favorite dish was the Creamy Cullen Skink, and we had a variety of starters and main dishes from their menu, all of which were excellent! The... 更多
We were on the hunt for haggis our first night in Scotland and this highly-recommended restaurant around the corner from our hotel did not disappoint. The haggis, neeps, and tatties in whisky sauce were very tasty, if not the most elegantly presented. We also had the fish and chips, which were piping hot and close to perfect. The scallops with... 更多
Good atmosphere but this is not so much a restaurant but a pub that serves food on the side. Food here is based on staples and is ok but feels expensive for what it is. £23 steak compares with Honours up the road that is in a different league. Desserts and coffees were better than the rest and the service... 更多
My first visit to this small but smart restaurant . Along with three friends we all enjoyed our meals, fish and lamb. The menu was varied but also unique and classy with good service too. We will defiantly return.
Met colleagues here for a dinner. Everything lovely - friendly helpful waitress. All happy with our food and drinks. Only downside was later into the evening a rather strange man took over our service - wasn't terribly people friendly - a little abrupt and off hand and not terribly interested. Generally though a good experience!
Bar restaurant in the center of Edinburgh. Food is good, you could find some Sottish dishes but also burger. Service informal and polite. Great experience,
Recently visited this restaurant for a friends birthday. Had a wonderful afternoon the food and service was excellent and we were not rushed to leave but left to enjoy the surroundings which on a very cold Sunday afternoon was warm and cosy. I would certain come back again as there was so much choice on the menu and would love... 更多
Very 'cheffy' food in a pleasant low key pub atmosphere. We called here without a reservation and they found a table in the relaxed pub side. Food was gorgeous - starters; smoked salmon bruschetta & haggis spring roll, main courses; hake & sausage of the day. The set menu is great value if you get there early enough. Great place!
We went here for a pre theatre meal and the menu choices were amazing. We ended up going for the set menu as this was so good and had belly pork with cauliflower fritter and ordered extra sides of greens and chips. This was followed by cranachn cheesecake. All of which were lovely. Service is really good but not at... 更多
We were recommended this restaurant by Katrina from The Guest Room, it's only 5 minutes cobbled walk away and lovely and cosy. It was a surprise meal for my boyfriend's birthday. They kindly accommodated a candle on his dessert and on request didn't sing which was perfect. Chris came and chatted to us after our meal which was convivial. Only... 更多
Popped in early on Saturday evening for a quick drink and decided to eat. The set menu was good quality and very reasonably priced. Often these type of deals are so so and you're left with a "well it wasn't great, but I suppose it wasn't dear type feeling". However, not so at The Magnum. The food, atmosphere and service... 更多
