One of the nicest meals we had in Scotland: think crayfish terrine, followed by duck breast and rounded off by a magnificent gooseberry and almond tart with elderberry ice cream. Friendly service, but you will need to book - it is very popular! It was the place most frequently recommended to us by locals, and now we see why! If... 更多
On a busy evening with no reservation we were given the last table for 2. Cheerful bar atmosphere, both our dinners were very well prepared and presented. Good choices for wine by the glass. Has the vibe of a "local's place".
We were for staying at St Boswell's and on recommendation from a friend dined at Burt's Hotel on a busy Saturday evening. The food and service was simply outstanding. Great value for money, good portion size and presentation of the food was beautiful.
We were staying in the Town House Hotel (sister to hotel to Burt's). Whilst we were really impressed with The Town House, I cannot say the same thing about Burts. The soup tasted as if it had come out of a tin, I ordered scotch beef with salad for my mains, when the dish came, I had to spend a... 更多
Sorry to hear that you had a poor meal at Burts. Thank you for bringing it to my intention. We... 更多
Another great find in Melrose a lovely garden to sit and have lunch food was excellent staff very hospitable had the smoked salmon what a treat all in all a great meal and surroundings
Regularly holiday in the Borders and one of our treats is a meal at Burt's and have never been disappointed. Our last visit was in May, a chilly day and not many in the bar, we went in for lunch, service excellent as usual, meal was superb, braised pigs cheek, yummy, dont go much on deserts, but decided to try... 更多
Had the rump of lamb and it was cooked to perfection. The food is flavoursome and fresh, can obviously tell it's quality ingredients. The sticky toffee pudding was amazing, although I felt a bit like Mr Creosote afterwards. Overall a great meal, service was good, really enjoyed it and will definitely visit again. Only regret is that we didn't stay... 更多
We ate dinner in the bar on two occasions, both times very tasty food and good service with a great atmosphere. Very popular spot with both locals and tourists.
This bar has a good atmosphere and lovely food. We visited for a family dinner and everything we ate was so tasty, especially the fish and chips
Food great, shame about the one and only waitress who had no idea at all about service. Didn't ask who was having the white or red wine, and tried to pour the person who ordered the wine whatever she had in her hand! Went to pour white, when he actually wanted red! If she had checked, she would have known. One... 更多
We ate here on a Sunday night and the service was good and quick and the staff friendly. Our food, home made burger, was nicely presented and very tasty.
Three of us and the dog went for a bar lunch. A choice of three cask beers were on offer, two local (Born in the Borders, "from plough to pint") and one other: all were spot on. We all chose from the light lunch options to allow room for pudding. Both courses were well presented and tasted excellent. The waiting... 更多
We were residents of the hotel. Walked in to the main dining area around lunchtime to investigate food options for our evening meal. No atmosphere whatsoever. A few diners were in, but sat in silence mostly. What staff were on were service were clearly too busy to give us a smile or a hello. We were given a menu to... 更多
Thank you for your constructive criticism. A little taken aback, however I take on your points and will try to... 更多
We called in for a quick lunch after a long walk with our dog. The fishcakes were delicious, beautifully crispy and served in a calorie busting cream sauce. Delicious. All washed down with excellent borders ale. Service quiet and efficient. I'm sure we'll be back during our week's stay in the borders.
