Nice friendly pub,old fashion feel just right for Oxford ie not a bloody Wetherspoons Not large inside with a nice selection of beers definitely a nice break from roaming around.
Hi Mark S, Many Thanks for your kind words. We do love being the only proper pub on the street... 更多
Lovely place to have a pint with good selection of Bath Ales on tap plus usual lagers and very good wine. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. A welcoming bar with good music. If you want to experience a British pub at its best come here.

This is a good pub if you are looking for a drink: good choice of nice unusual beers, friendly staff, nice "old school" pub. However the food was a bit disappointing : it took ages for us to be served, and the vegetables were stone cold by the time the food arrived.
Hi Auriele Z, I'm sorry to hear you didn't enjoy your food yesterday. You only mention the vegetables of which... 更多
Really enjoyed my visit, we took our visitors to Oxford and they too were impressed. They have an excellent choice of real beer and are happy to let you try them before making the final decision. The owners were friendly and welcoming and the food excellent. Will I return? A definite Yes!

The grapes was a surprise visit on passing but so glad we went in, the different beers were great and the guys serving explained the differences. We had the meat pie and chips which was a struggle to finish and the filling was so tasty, the top could have been cooked for slightly longer as it was a little stodgy... 更多

Upon first entry into The Grapes, it will hit you too: it's yet another pub in Oxford that smells of stale beer and sweat, the atmosphere is dingy and it's the kind of pub that one wouldn't be surprised to find mould inside. It seems a surprise to me that the pub is so popular, but it is. In the... 更多

We had a lovely lunchtime break from sight seeing in Oxford last week. There was a good atmosphere, great beer and plenty of reasonably priced food which was well presented. The staff were very pleasant and only too pleased to help.
Hi Julie B, Many Thanks for your kind words, it was a pleasure to serve you Regards James 更多
We were going to eat at another pun but found Grapes rating higher so went here instead. Glad we did! Staff were very friendly, food (snacks and mains we had) were definitely fresh fare, it was clean and fun to be in, and the beer selection was great. Perfect for a local stop. Ticked all the boxes.
Hi DiversyHarbor, Many Thanks for your kind words. We hope to see you again soon Kind Regards James 更多
I had a great pint of Gem. I've never had a Bath Ale before, and being from Marlow, I'm keen on the Marlow Brewery's beers. So, the beer was the first pleasant surprise. The food was really good too. First off, "real chips" are a winner in my book. I'm sick of those frozen ones you find in most places.... 更多

i like this place. It's simple. It's a bar for ale drinkers, no messing. It's a Bath brewery pub, so you can't blame them for hosting their own ales. Not a big Bath ales fan, but I got to try the Spa and it was great. The decor was simple but functional. The barman was great, very chatty, and took... 更多

We were looking for a ploughman's lunch and beer so when we spotted this for £4.50 on the menu outside we called in. Unfortunately, what we had failed to spot was that the 'ploughman's' was a sandwich and we had already ordered drinks by the time we realised. We had one of those, a coronation chicken sandwich and a few... 更多

The Grapes inside is exactly how it looks from the outside: an unpretentious, traditional Oxford pub that does the simple things well. It reminds me of the sort of pubs you still find in Square Mile; it's an oasis in a busy part of town where the ale still comes first. Bar staff are great. On my last few visits... 更多
Hi TheClaphams, Many Thanks for you kind words, we'll look forward to seeing you again Cheers James 更多
Called into The Grapes whilst on a quick visit to Oxford. Familiar with other restaurants owned by Bath Ales, so decided to give this a try. Typical City pub atmosphere, and quite busy. Obviously popular with some of the locals (good beer?). Staff very friendly. Limited food on offer and opted for breaded chicken and chips. Although presentation in enamel... 更多

They have a really good selection of ales on tap - avoid the bath ales (lets face it they are boring) - the other ales are well kept and reasonably priced. The staff are friendly and after months of visiting someone has finally started dimming the lights in the evening. Which means more comfortable relaxing surroundings!
