What a lovely Café. We had afternoon tea which was delicious and the perfect amount. Friendly staff. Spotless. And they let doggies inside. It's small with lots of tables and everyone else's food looked great. A perfect stop off while wandering around
We choose this on spec and once in had a read of the reviews on trip advisor. Had to laugh at the 1 + 2 star reviews, my personal bug bear is people who only have a handful of reviews trying to avatar a business like this. Anyway, my visit. A nice little tea shop, lovely staff, not over bearing... 更多
We dropped into Monks for Saturday lunch on a very cold May day. Monks is a lovely little café with very reasonably priced, good quality food. We chose the option of a 'small' bowl of soup (it was a very generous portion) and a sandwich. The waiting staff were very polite. Our only complaint was that as people were sitting... 更多
As relatively frequent visitors to Whitby we have until now always struggled to have a decent light lunch. Two excellent crab sandwiches were thoroughly enjoyed in a more adult environment! Cakes, drinks [real coffee that seems so hard to find in Whitby???] and staff were equally good. We will make this the cafe of choice on our next visit.
We came across Monks Haven whilst looking for somewhere to have lunch. A very quaint cafe, nicely decorated and staff made us feel very welcome. Good varied menu, good prices, good portions and very tasty food. Will go back when I next in Whitby.
We stopped off here for a light lunch on a busy bank holiday Monday. Whilst the cafe was extremely busy we didn't have to wait long for a table and were not rushed at all during our lunch. The staff were very friendly and seemed very organised. We all had a sandwich and shared some chips. I enjoyed a ham... 更多
made a couple of visits here whilst in Whitby. One for just tea and cake and the second for an afternoon tea. Service is excellent and staff are very friendly. Afternoon tea was perfect..selection of sandwiches (egg, tuna and ham) plus cakes and a scone with jam and cream. Lemon drizzle cake also highly recommended !!
Had a couple of meals here over the last few days. Had chance to try the famous Fortune's kippers on the first night of my visit and had a full English breakfast on my last day. The food was hot, tasty and plentiful. Good value, especially the breakfast at £4.95 for a full English & a hot drink. Set me... 更多
Fresh fish and chips, fresh crab sandwiches and even a sausage for the dog. Very tasty, extremely friendly staff, prefect lunch destination. Thank you.
We had breakfast here during out 2 day stay in Whitby and glad we chose this cafe. I had poached eggs on toast and hubby had sausage / bacon sandwich. The reason for writing this review is to say how friendly the staff were and even though they were clearly busy - all tables were taken up - the service... 更多
Our party of 3 ventured into Monks Haven Cafe on Saturday afternoon in search of a late lunch. For an extremely busy cafe, we only had to wait a few minutes for a table, which they were quick to clear and clean. The weather was cold and wet outside and we were 3 soaked Goths! Service was quick and the... 更多
We called in for brunch as we were stopping nearby. Church Street is a lovely quaint area and Monks Haven looks appealing and inviting from the outside. My husband and I both had local smoked kippers with scrambled eggs & toast - absolutely delicious. We were just going to order toast and juice for our 3 year old, but for... 更多
Called in this cafe the other day as I was getting some improvements done at home and had no cooking facilities (I'm a local). I ordered the crab sandwich which came with a lovely crisp salad, coleslaw and crisps, I also ordered a side order of chips which were delicious but I was unable to finish them as the crab... 更多
Visited here on a recent family day trip to Whitby and went in as it is dog friendly. Afternoon tea is £12.95 for 2 people and is OK. Portions are good, but sandwiches are a little cold (just out of the fridge, meaning they feel a little firm and stale). You only get one scone and it is served with... 更多
This is a jolly, well positioned cafe in the old part of Whitby. We sat outside to drink in the early spring sunshine and the busy atmosphere in this old part if town. The tables, and the pavement could, be cleaner for alfresco dining but we were needing a snack and decided to look no further. The snack menu was... 更多
