Good choice of menu, extremely well presented - could not fault food or service. First visit and will definately not be our last
I have not visited this pub for nearly 20 years, but when we did last month the experience was well worth the wait. Great hosts, service, food and beers/wine.
The place is an interesting looking old house with a pub and dining area. The interior looks old as it is meant to be and that is fine. The table we were seated was very impractical since there were thick wooden bars at the floor level on the long sides of the table and it was really difficult to get... 更多
Our 3rd visit to The Cat and our best - but the others were great too. Stayed with friends overnight. Rooms excellent - clean , comfortable and great bath. Evening food was top dining and reasonably priced and breakfast choice amazing. We will be back- thank you to Andrew and his staff
I’ve eaten once before at The Cat but it was some time ago and I’d forgotten why I hadn’t been back. Now I know. Even though the food was beautifully cooked, cleverly balanced and demonstrated that the chef really is on top of their game there is a problem…..and I have considered this a lot….. it’s just too expensive for... 更多
West Hoathly is a delightful, small, Sussex village and unlike many similar places, still offers two pubs. The Cat is opposite the church and has managed the very difficult trick of being an excellent restaurant whilst maintaining a cosy pubby feel. The main building holds the busy bar area, and some cosy tables to eat, including an unusual, raised table... 更多
I pleasant evening, lovely flavours to the food, but a tad on the pricy side (expect London prices). Nevertheless the service was excellent and they obviously run a well oiled ship, given the number of local drinkers and the fact there wasn't a spare table to be had in the house!
We stopped at this picturesque village pub for a pint and quick bite to eat-nothing fancy-just a couple of sandwiches although The Cat serves full meals. However based on the quality of the presentation (on a wood board, with an excellent mixed green salad, tasty cole slaw and crisps) and the truly great sandwiches: local smoked ham and mustard and... 更多
Stayed overnight, dined in the pub, what great food service and hospitality. I know through bitter experience how hard it is to run a successful inn; well done to Andrew and his team what a superb experience. The food was tasty, rooms clean and comfortable (with their own Nespresso Coffee machines – home-from-home). The pub was buzzing for a Friday... 更多
Lovely pub with friendly staff in a lovely village location. Portions slightly small for a pub and the price. But the food was excellent and a good choice.
Good Friday lunch - first class service and fantastic food. They made it all look effortless. £50 per head including wine for three courses was excellent value for the quality. Imaginative menu made it a difficult choice which is always a good sign. A well run, professional and friendly team delivering a great product. Well done to everyone. Your reputation... 更多
We had a very nice lunch here on Saturday. The bar area when you walk in is fantastic, full of character. The gentleman who greeted us was very friendly and the waiters were very efficient throughout. I like the fact that he recommended a locally produced drink, which was indeed delicious. It's a shame that the cosy pub decor ends... 更多
We had a good meal at the Cat Inn in West Hoathly. It retains a good pub atmosphere while delivering the best aspects of a gastro-pub. Good food, attentive though pub-like service and a good wine list. A very nice cheese board too. Recommended.
Being a successful chefs daughter and having knowledge of food and how it should be served, this inn definitely gets the thumbs down, food served practically cold, the food here was more canteen style then restaurant style, definitely not worth the price.
