There was only one person working and she definitely took her time. The food was not good (pancake was terrible).
We just happened to be driving by Cafe Playa Negra and decided to stop for dinner. The staff was friendly and very accomodating. The food was delicious and very affordable. The atmosphere was very casual and pleasant.
I did not stay at Cafe Playa Negra, but I stopped in for breakfast occasionally and it was great! The staff is friendly, the food is ALOT for the price you pay (breakfast at least) and they have wifi for the backpacking travelers :)

This was average in every way. Although service was way below. We were in Costa Rica 2 weeks and ate in Sodas, B&B's, restaurants, and all in between. We had the plaintain appetizer, two tuna dishes and a passion fruit cheesecake. The entire meal was excellent and exceeded our expectations, given the size and remoteness of this community. We stayed at the hotel so we ate almost every meal at the cafe below. Definitely some of the best food we had in Costa Rica but it ain't so cheap. There aren't a lot of options around the immediate area so they jack up the price. It's air conditioned and you get fast service along w a strong WiFi... 更多
