Stopped here after a walk up roseberry topping for some lunch. The menu was extensive - plenty to chose from. Our food came quickly and we both really enjoyed. Can't wait to come back.
We popped into The Wainstones in Great Broughton for lunch, we both asked for a cheese, ham and pickle sandwich. But we were not prepared for what was to come A plate of huge sandwiches plus a large bowl of colslaw, large bowl of salad and an even bigger bowl of chips plus 2 drinks and all for about £10... 更多
• Poor service • Not good value for money • Uncomfortable seating There was a group of 8 of us and only 5 got napkins. Asked for a pint of water they came back with 8 wine glasses and a jug The waiters were quiet and couldn't hear what we said. They did not ask us if we wanted sauces... 更多
Stayed at the Wainstones along the Coast 2 Coast walk. They very happily picked us up from the trail at the far side of town, and delivered us back when we wanted, in the morning - no charge. The manager there was quite accommodating and very pleasant to deal with. Rooms were reasonable size and bathroom was huge! Heated pipes... 更多
This is a charming place in a beautiful old stone building. We both had pies for lunch & they were exceptionally good - a leek & potato (vegetarian) & a chicken pie. The service was a bit off-handed but friendly. The ambience is typical English pub.
I stayed at the hotel a few weeks ago and wondered what I'd let myself in for when I saw the very dated decor in the restaurant. I know of people visiting the Wainstones for food and that it was apparently ok. Can i just say, it was absolutely stunning food. My partner had the lamb and I had the... 更多
Stayed here on coast to coast. Transport offered up and down to Clay Bank Top. Compared to the very personal B and B we had stayed in along the route it was very much a typical hotel room, clean but lacked character. This was made up for by friendly staff and a great breakfast selection including Whitby kippers that were... 更多
Good service for coast to coast walkers with a pick up at Clay Bank Tops and delivery back in the morning. Pleasant staff who were very helpful. Rooms large enough with larger than average bathrooms. As many reviews have noted the rooms were airless with very small window with the bathroom window in our room painted shut making for a... 更多
we have visited this hotel on quite a few occasions in the past, but on this visit we were very disappointed.the prawn cocktail contained 75% lettuce and the chips gave you the impression that they had been "warmed up".my wife had parmesan chicken, but the parmesan cheese tasted like a substitute!
The room was nice. Bed was good quality and the breakfast was freshly made and good choices available. Hotel is a bit dated and slightly old fashioned but that's not a criticism.
