Peaceful and welcoming pub with good choice of food and drink. Lovely location and decor inside and garden.
Sticky tables, mains were very small portions, white wine warm which was taken away, put in the freezer for5 min. and brought back 5 minutes later not much colder. Only saving grace was Kelly our very pleasant and helpful waitress. Place needs new management. They were not interested in showing their faces. We refused to pay for the wine and... 更多
Although we did not stop for a meal, we did have a few drinks in the bar, when we arrived it was fairly quiet and we set ourselves up in a corner near the bar with nice sofa and chair seating. The beer and cider selection was good and we were soon enjoying our drinks and banter. The pub is... 更多
What can I say about the Royal Oak. Lovely thatched pub but not low and cramped inside. Dogs welcome. Ponies right outside the pub Lovely friendly staff Food was very good If your in the area it's worth a visit Lovely peaceful surroundings. If I lived down here I would definitely be a regular
Service was exceptionally good, with our chosen two course lunch being served beautifully presented in a timely manner. Both bar and waiting staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. No Guinness left, run out of the larger I chose, over priced £10.50 for a lager and a wine shame nice place used to be my regular, menu not tempting and pricey. its not winter yet keep the menu light.
We've visited the new forest on a walking holiday with our pug and were delighted to find such a dog friendly place that served a decent meal! All the staff were very attentive and welcoming. Highly recommended, great food, great place and great atmosphere!
We spent two nights in the shepherd huts at the Royal Oak. WoW how fabulous it was. Great pub with great ales 75 yards away. We ate in the pub at lunchtime and cooked in the hut in the evening. It was truly wonderful
