We met friends for lunch yesterday afternoon. We had booked but could only get a table at 3pm as it was clearly very popular. We were a table of seven with three children among us (two in high chairs). Our table was in the bar area but was large with plenty of room. The staff were very pleasant and professional,... 更多
The food was nicely presented & very tasty. The cheese Souffle with walnuts & salad was a delicious starter and generous in size that could easily be a main course. The curry ticked all the boxes for my husband & I enjoyed the fish. The pudding of chocolate mousse with sorbet & tiny meringues was superb. We have always had... 更多
We had a family celebration meal at the Bushel and Strike and Lucy and Martin catered for our every need. They provided a warm welcoming space for 17 of us with very short notice and nothing was too much trouble. The food was excellent and delivered with great efficiency. All our meals were fresh, delicious and of top quality. Thank... 更多
Came here for a valentines lunch after seeing some of the beautiful looking food on my last visit. We were sat in the very busy restaurant by friendly service, and we both ordered off the reasonably priced set menu. We both had the oz tongue starter which was delicious, but no comparison to my main course. My cod was cooked... 更多
I visited friends down in Ashwell for Sunday lunch and for a change we dined out. Well worth the drive of 1hr 45 minutes. Fantastic portion sizes nice and hot and served by an enthusiastic team. The manageress was very attentive and made sure that we were well looked after. It was nice to wait for a little while for... 更多
We met at Ashwell (as it is halfway between Cambs and Bucks). for a grandson's celebratory birthday lunch. The young men had generous steaks, perfectly cooked, and we had sole and chicken - also excellent. Good and imaginative starters and ditto puds. All beautifully presented, worthy of the West End. but a family atmosphere too.
Ashwell is a lovely village and this is an exceptional place to eat. Tuesday to Friday is a special gourmet set lunch at a very reasonable price. I enjoyed a delicious starter called halibut ceviche and then a sole with perfect trimmings. They must have a great chef. Friendly and helpful staff - a pleasure all round
In the post Christmas slump, Bruce and I decided to cheer ourselves up with a Wednesday night meal across a couple of cold, January weeks at the Bushel. Wonderful food, service and warmth as always. Martin's use of pulses and chorizo in thick sauces are perfect for a winter's evening! Certainly cheered us both up.
A great place to find on a Sunday as we quite often like pub lunches on our return journeys from sporting events. They serve until 18.00 and i have to say the food is exceptional particularly the mash potato. If you like cheese after your meal check out the cheese list, very good.
