We spent two nights tent camping in site #39. We had quite a bit of space but not a lot of privacy as the site was pretty open. The location was very convenient to Estes Park. It wasn't as scenic as Moraine Park, but was still very nice.
LOVE ASPENGLEN!!!!! I can not say enough good things about Aspenglen...100 feet just inside the entrance of Rocky Mountain National Park on the other side of Estes Park.... well lit clean flush bathrooms...wonderfully clean campground with plenty of space per camp spot with huge bear boxes per campsite...very friendly and helpful Rangers...every evening they sell firewood, charcoal, kindling, lighter fluid,...
First national park camping experience and it was a great one. Quiet and clean with a bear box at every site. The bathrooms were clean and new. We saw a huge bull elk right up the road from out site! I would stay at this campground again. It is the closest campground the the Estes Park site entrance.
Aspenglen is a quiet and isolated campground. Pace here is a bit slower, removed from the hustle and bustle of the larger campgrounds. Clean campground, clean restrooms, terrific on-site rangers. We camped in one of the walk-in sites and felt like we had our own little spot in the mountains. We loved it and will return.
My husband and I stayed here for a night right after moving to Denver. It is a quick drive from Denver, but beware the traffic through Estes Park! We originally went through the Beaver Meadows Entrance at about noon on a Sunday, and there was a very long line to get in the park. However, once we exited the park...
We loved our visit to Aspenglen campground. Easy to find, clean restrooms, and large sites make this a good place to stay. There is firewood and ice for sale every evening. It is a smaller and quieter place to relax after a day of hiking. We would love to go back!
