called in after completing nearby 'precipice walk', good food and service with excellent view over estuary from outside balcony, best meal during week in area, rounded off perfect day. good choice of food and drink
If it's service with a smile you want. DONT go to the George 111.
The management and bar staff don't appear to understand that they are in the hospitality business and the waiting staff don't look as though it's a happy ship.
Zero hospitality and throughly miserable. Totally devoid of common etiquette.
I randomly ended up at the George a few years ago when our car literally stopped working right outside the car park. So I whiled away an evening enjoying the outstanding views with a few pints and a standard pub supper.
I was keen to return and have just done so.
My review - don't bother.
It's in an excellent...
As locals been going to this establishment every now and again. The food is sometimes ok , but never out of this world. Latest visit left us very disappointed, food was not great at all. Steak was undercooked, I asked for medium well, and what I got was at best medium rare, the peas were awash with blood oozing out...
We called in after walking the trail for a couple of hours as the view from the balcony upstairs is simply wonderful.
We ordered Steak in Ale pie which comes with chips and peas, a salmon baguette with chips, a beer and pot of tea.
The food was good quality, but nothing out of the ordinary and when paying £31...
We were walking along the Mawddach trial and were going to have a drink here after eating a sandwich. We were sitting on the wall along the river front enjoying the beautiful view when an officious man informed us in a very rude way that we were on hotel property and shouldn't be eating our own food. If this had...
as we own a holiday home in this area we are around frequently. We have been to the George for evening meals on a few occasions. Generally the food has been o.k. But nothing special. However I personally vowed that due to the racist fiasco a while back that I would not return on principle To this venue. However due...
We wasted our lunch time here whilst recently visiting the area so I don't want to waste any further time with a lengthy review. We had very bland pies with oven chips and a dry chicken baguette from the freezer. This would be fine had the prices been cut in half, but I have eaten some fantastic food for a...
Dropped in for lunch on a two day holiday with family. Great selection of food on the menu and all four of us really enjoyed what we ordered. Loved the atmosphere and situation on the estuary.
Would definitely recommend it and go back if ever in the area again.
Now, don't get me wrong, the settings are amazing, the views are stunning. The food is tasty and the staff are really nice.
However, being away from home on business all week is hard enough without your family or social life so having a connection for the phone and wifi is a must.
I know many people stay there with...
